Monitoring Engineer (Zabbix)

We are looking for a Monitoring Engineer to take ownership of our monitoring system, ensuring high visibility, reliable alerting, and overall service observability.

This role is focused on monitoring, alerting, and incident detection, without deep involvement in infrastructure migrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain monitoring solutions based on Zabbix
• Configure dependency and parent-child logic for event correlation
• Build and maintain network maps
• Create dashboards, service monitoring, and SLA reporting
• Develop custom checks using PowerShell / Bash
• Configure triggers, alerts, and escalation policies
• Analyze incidents and reduce alert noise (false positives)
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to improve monitoring coverage

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Zabbix
• Strong understanding of monitoring concepts (metrics, logs, alerts)
• Experience with alerting systems and event correlation
• Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS)
• Scripting skills (PowerShell or Bash)
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis

Nice to Have

• Experience with other monitoring tools
• Understanding of SLA / SLO / SLI concepts
• Linux knowledge
• Experience with integrations (APIs, webhooks)

Languages

• English — Upper-Intermediate+
• German — nice to have
