Senior AI Engineer

Our client is a product-focused technology company building scalable SaaS solutions for a global audience. Their platform supports high-load workloads, real-time data processing, and complex integrations, including payments and subscription systems.

The engineering team is distributed and operates in an AI-first environment, with a strong focus on automation, reliability, and modern cloud-native architectures.
 

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and continuously improve scalable, high-availability backend systems using serverless technologies
• Architect distributed systems and scalable APIs while ensuring reliability, performance, and fault tolerance
• Develop and maintain backend services using AWS serverless stack (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, SNS)
• Take ownership of cloud engineering initiatives and contribute to key infrastructure and architectural decisions
• Ensure secure and efficient handling of data and services within cloud environments
• Contribute to AI-first engineering practices and support the scalability and maintainability of AI-driven systems
• Identify opportunities to optimize workflows through automation and AI solutions
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems following SRE best practices
• Design failover strategies and continuously improve system robustness and reliability
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Operations, and Frontend teams to ensure seamless integration
• Participate in Agile processes, including planning, refinements, and delivery cycles
• Conduct code reviews and maintain high standards of code quality
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term, scalable fixes
• Maintain clear and well-structured technical documentation
• Proactively identify and implement improvements in architecture and engineering processes
• Take ownership of systems and technical decisions, ensuring accountability and long-term stability
• Mentor engineers and promote a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement
   

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong expertise in Python
• Deep understanding of asynchronous programming
• Hands-on experience with AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, SNS)
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and automated testing systems
• Solid background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
• Experience with distributed systems and scalable architectures
• Background in SaaS product development
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in distributed teams
   

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of AWS security and compliance best practices
• Experience with event-driven architectures or real-time analytics
• Experience with microservices architecture
• Exposure to high-load consumer applications
• Understanding of networking and URL routing logic (e.g., link shortening systems)
