Copywriter / Proofreader (Pre-AI Craft + Fact-Check Focus)

 

Copy quality and factual accuracy risk drifting as volume increases: messages can become inconsistent, claims insufficiently checked, and “almost good” copy ships without proper editorial polish.

This role exists to protect clarity, credibility, and brand trust by owning high-quality copywriting, editing, and fact-checking, so the team can scale content and conversion without errors, contradictions, or shaky claims.

 

What this person will do

  • Write and edit conversion-focused copy across websites, landing pages, PDPs, emails, and marketing assets
  • Proofread and polish existing copy for clarity, structure, tone, grammar, and consistency
  • Verify and fact-check claims, sources, and assumptions to ensure accuracy and internal coherence
  • Maintain and evolve the Company brand voice while keeping copy simple, believable, and persuasive
  • Flag risks in messaging, logic, or compliance before content goes live

After 1 months:

  • Copy across key assets is noticeably cleaner, more consistent, and more credible
  • Fewer revisions, last-minute fixes, or post-publish corrections are required
  • Growth and Design teams trust copy to be accurate, on-brand, and publication-ready

After 2 months:

  • A clear editorial standard exists and is consistently applied across channels
  • Messaging quality scales without erosion of trust or clarity
  • Content performance improves due to sharper structure, stronger persuasion, and reduced friction

     

Must-have

  • 5+ years of experience in copywriting, editing, or proofreading (pre-AI fundamentals required)
  • Exceptional command of written English (grammar, syntax, tone, structure)
  • Strong fact-checking discipline and attention to detail
  • Ability to simplify complex ideas without distorting meaning
  • High ownership mindset around accuracy, consistency, and quality

     

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with health, wellness, supplements, or science-adjacent content
  • Familiarity with conversion copywriting and e-commerce funnels
  • Experience editing AI-assisted content without letting quality degrade
  • Background in startups or fast-moving teams with high content volume
