About the role:

We are looking for a Senior Technical 3D Artist with strong hands-on Unreal Engine experience to design, structure, and build real-time 3D configurators, including pixel-streamed client demos and production visualization projects.

This role is not only about creating good-looking Unreal Engine 3D content. The main focus is building the correct configurator structure: product logic, asset hierarchy, sockets, slots, materials, variants, camera/showcase setup, and the workflow needed to turn client product rules into a working 3d configurator.

You will work closely with 3D modelers, texture artists, Unreal Engine developers, and front-end developers. You should be able to review client references, product documentation, visual examples, and business rules, then define how the 3D content should be prepared so the configurator works correctly.

You should also be able to identify unclear or risky areas early - for example, product dependencies, hidden restrictions, mutually exclusive options, material rules, or reference details that may affect configurator logic but are not obvious at the start of the project.

Basic understanding of Unreal Engine Blueprints: able to read simple Blueprint setups, understand dependencies, and communicate technical issues with Unreal Engine developers. Advanced Blueprint development or C++ programming is not mandatory.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and refine real-time scenes in Unreal Engine (environments, props, lighting, cameras, post-processing).
  • Prepare products, materials, environments, and camera sequences for 3D configurators and demos.
  • Structure 3D assets for configurator logic, including material slots, sockets, tags, component types, and naming.
  • Analyze product business rules, including dependencies, restrictions, packages, mutually exclusive options, and configurable parts.
  • Analyze client references, product documentation, finish options, and visual examples to define the correct 3D asset structure for configurators.
  • Identify unclear requirements, missing references, or product rules that may affect configurator logic before production starts.
  • Translate product business logic into a clear 3D production plan for modelers, texture artists, and Unreal Engine developers.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers to plan configurator menu logic and make sure the 3D structure supports the required user experience.
  • Collaborate with Unreal Engine developers to integrate assets into existing project structures and solve technical or visual issues.
  • Create, adjust, and refine Unreal Engine materials to accurately match real client products, including complex finishes, layered materials, fabric, wood, metal, plastic, glass, leather, decals, patterns, roughness/normal detail, and product-specific visual behavior.
  • Create technical specifications for 3D modelers and texture artists.
  • Plan task distribution for large configurator projects to keep production efficient.
  • Create internal demos, preview renders, camera shots, and client-facing visual presentations.
  • Optimize scenes and assets for real-time performance, balancing visual quality, FPS, and production time.
  • Maintain clean Unreal Engine project organization, including levels, folders, naming conventions, references, and source-control workflows.
  • Help debug asset-related issues in complex configurator builds.
  • Suggest improvements to lighting, framing, camera motion, color, composition, and overall product presentation.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a 3D Artist or Technical Artist, with a strong focus on Unreal Engine.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Unreal Engine scene setup, lighting, materials, cameras, post-processing, and asset organization.
  • Practical understanding of real-time product visualization and configurator workflows.
  • Experience with level building, Lumen, Path Tracer, Sequencer, camera animation, and Movie Render Queue.
  • Understanding of static/skeletal meshes, UVs, materials, LODs, collisions, asset references, maps, levels, sub-levels, and streaming.
  • Ability to prepare Unreal Engine assets according to technical requirements, naming conventions, and production standards.
  • Knowledge in the PBR texture creation pipeline.
  • Basic understanding of Blueprint logic and ability to read or adjust simple Blueprints when needed.
  • Comfortable working with Unreal Engine developers and front-end developers on production-scale projects.
  • Strong Unreal Engine material creation skills, including master material setup, material instances, layered materials, and matching materials to client references or physical product samples.
  • Solid skills in at least one DCC package, such as Blender, 3ds Max, Maya, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of software packages for texture creation: Adobe Photoshop/Substance Painter/Substance Designer/3DCoat
  • Strong visual sense: composition, lighting, color, camera language, product presentation, and visual storytelling.
  • Experience with Git-based source control workflows: branching, commits, pull requests, resolving simple conflicts, and following repository structure.
  • Basic understanding of how front-end configurator menu logic works so 3D assets can be prepared correctly.
  • Basic technical animation skills.
  • Portfolio showing Unreal Engine work.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with product configurators, e-commerce visualization, or pixel-streaming projects.
  • Experience preparing assets for custom tools or internal platforms.
  • Experience working with front-end teams or API-based product configurators.
  • Basic scripting or automation knowledge.
  • Technical education degree.
  • English level B1 or higher.
