VP of Engineering Responsibilities

Provide strong engineering leadership with 5+ years of experience guiding high-velocity, high-impact teams in fast-moving environments.

• Drive a culture of exceptional communication, cross-functional collaboration, and clear business alignment, ensuring engineering decisions directly support product and company priorities.
• Architect, design, and deliver scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs, maintaining reliability under rapid growth and evolving product needs.
• Partner closely with product, design, and leadership to shape technical strategy, define innovative features, and translate business objectives into pragmatic engineering solutions.
• Build and refine robust backend systems and distributed architectures optimized for efficiency, observability, and resilience.
• Design and implement message-driven architectures using technologies such as SQS, RabbitMQ, or Kafka.
• Work confidently across both relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and document stores (MongoDB), ensuring data models and access patterns scale with the business.
• Uphold and elevate engineering excellence through rigorous code reviews, clarity-driven documentation, and proactive mentorship.
• Maintain a strong command of type-safe programming practices that improve maintainability and reduce production risk.
• Demonstrate hands-on experience with queues, relational/document databases, and modern backend systems.
