Engineering Manager — Salesforge

We're now hiring an Engineering Manager to help us scale execution without losing the velocity that got us here.
What you'll do
- Lead one or more high-velocity backend engineering teams, owning delivery, team health, and execution quality end to end.
- Run 1:1s, coach engineers on growth and impact, and build feedback loops that keep people developing fast.
- Partner with Product to translate ideas into well-scoped technical tickets and milestones — reducing CTO dependency and enabling the team to plan with confidence.
- Drive planning rituals (backlog grooming, sprint flow, retros) and keep priorities aligned with business goals at all times.
- Guide technical design for backend services and APIs: review proposals, facilitate tradeoffs, and push for scalability and reliability as we grow.
- Contribute to our distributed systems work (SQS, RabbitMQ, Kafka) with a focus on resilience and operability.
- Ensure data models scale well across relational and document databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Build a culture of ownership, high code quality, and continuous improvement.
What we're looking for
- 3+ years of hands-on backend engineering experience — you can read code, challenge architecture decisions, and earn technical credibility with your team.
- 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams with real ownership of delivery and people.
- Excellent written and spoken English — you'll be coordinating across time zones and communicating with a senior leadership team.
- A genuine appetite for high-velocity startup environments — you thrive under ambiguity, move fast, and don't need process as a crutch.
- Ability to absorb large amounts of context quickly — our product surface is broad and growing, and ramp time is short by design.
