Details: Full-time, long-term

For the right person, there’s a real chance to get a work visa, and even relocate to Germany if that’s something you’re aiming for. Whether you’re already in Germany or thinking about moving one day, it could be a great fit.

About:

A German logistics company, specializing in the secure transport and storage of high-value items like art and cultural artifacts, is building a custom ERP system from the ground up.

Off-the-shelf solutions don’t meet the company’s needs, so the company is investing in a modern, scalable infrastructure to support operations across multiple businesses within the holding. The project is in the MVP stage, designed with clean architecture, clear processes, and full documentation—no legacy systems.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in building and optimizing cloud infrastructure, automating deployments, and ensuring system reliability. This is a long-term opportunity in a stable company committed to continuous innovation.

Your Role:

The Senior DevOps Engineer will collaborate with 2 frontend developers, 5 backend developers, and QA specialists to advance a cutting-edge system based on a microservices architecture. Responsibilities include enhancing CI/CD pipelines, optimizing Azure Cloud infrastructure, and ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.

Key tasks involve:

  • Evolving DevOps pipelines by onboarding new resource types and provisioning resources for development and future business needs.
  • Automating infrastructure and alerting for rapid issue detection and resolution.
  • Crafting disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity management (BCM) strategies.
  • Applying networking expertise to maintain a robust, secure environment.

This position offers the opportunity to shape a forward-thinking platform using proven open-source and cloud-native tools like Terraform, ArgoCD, Prometheus, Grafana, and Helm, within a modern stack featuring Java, Spring Boot, Angular, Kafka, and Kubernetes.

What You Bring:

  • Proven experience with Azure (familiarity with other hyperscalers is a plus).
  • Practical understanding of DevOps across software development, testing, and operations.
  • Hands-on expertise with cloud-native tools and a track record of effective implementation.
  • Strong skills in CI/CD pipeline development (e.g., GitLab CI/CD).
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Terragrunt) and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Helm).
  • Ability to automate monitoring and alerting (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo).
  • Solid networking knowledge and, ideally, experience with Windows and M365.
  • A pragmatic approach rooted in DRY, KISS, and YAGNI principles.
  • Strong communication, creativity, and a commitment to well-documented code.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively with a goal-oriented, structured mindset.

Project Tech Stack:

The ERP system being supported is built with the following technologies:

  • Java 17, Spring Boot, Angular
  • Kafka for real-time data streaming, Elasticsearch for search capabilities
  • PostgreSQL as the primary database
  • Azure Kubernetes, Docker, Helm
  • GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, Terragrunt
  • Monitoring and logging with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, SLF4J
  • Testing frameworks: JUnit (Jupiter), Mockito, Instancio, Cucumber
  • Additional tools: Flyway, FeignClient, JasperReports, MS Graph API

Why Apply?:

  • Join a dynamic, close-knit team passionate about crafting future-proof software and DevOps solutions in the captivating world of specialized logistics.
  • Access continuous learning and growth opportunities.
  • Thrive in a transparent, trust-driven culture with flat hierarchies, fast decisions, and a focus on continuous improvement—from the team to leadership.
  • Experience an open, friendly, and error-tolerant environment with a first-name-based culture that values every contribution.

  • Non-technical interview to explore experience and alignment with the team.
  • Technical test task.
  • Technical interview to delve into expertise and approach.
