Database Administrator (PostgreSQL)

     Requirements:

  • 3+ years as a Database Administrator.
  • Deep expertise in PostgreSQL, including configuration, replication, and query optimization.
  • Experience with MariaDB and MongoDB.
  • Proven ability in designing and implementing Data Warehouses.
  • Hands-on experience with database performance optimization practices.
  • Proficiency with database monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
  • Understanding of Linux system administration and Kubernetes.
  • Teamwork and collaboration.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with other departments.
  • Proficiency in English sufficient to read technical documentation.

     

    Responsibilities:
     

  1. High-Load Database Operations:
    • Work with high-load databases operating 24/7.
    • Identify bottlenecks and optimize database configurations.
    • Perform database version upgrades.
  2. Database Optimization:
    • Optimize database queries, indexes, and other components for maximum performance.
    • Assist with query tuning and schema refinement for developers.
  3. Scaling and Maintenance:
    • Implement scaling techniques like sharding and replication.
    • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployments.
  4. Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Regularly monitor database health and performance.
    • Generate detailed reports on database metrics for stakeholders.
  5. Data Migration:
    • Support data migration between different Database Management Systems (DBMS).
  6. Database Tools and Automation:
    • Configure and utilize PostgreSQL tools like Patroni, pgBouncer, pgBadger, and Ansible.
    • Automate routine administration tasks.
  7. Data Warehouse Development:
    • Design and implement Data Warehouses tailored to current and future company needs.
  8. Backup and Recovery:
    • Develop and implement data backup and recovery strategies.
  9. Database Security:
    • Conduct security audits and implement recommended practices.
  10. Documentation:
    • Develop technical documentation for database processes and workflows.
