Our client is a modern Scandinavian bank that works across 12 countries with the common goal: to help customers reach their goals and realise their ambitions. Technology is a strategic focus for our customer investing in infrastructure, data management platforms, applications for their business lines needs as well as building additional capabilities. Our customer is using technology to help customers become financially confident by making daily banking and important financial decisions easy.

The bank is undertaking Hadoop migration to the public cloud. The project is being executed in close partnership with AWS. The Hadoop Cluster for fraud detection is hosted on an on-premises data platform, based on a bare-metal architecture. Existing data center capacity is becoming scarce, and with the exponential growth of data, this project becomes more and more critical.

YOU ARE
A successful engineer will be able to solve complex security problems in our hybrid-cloud environment while working on a team spanning multiple time-zones, possessing:
• At least 5 years of in-depth technical experience with modern Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Presto, and Spark
• Experience with Kerberos and related Hadoop Security Technologies
• Expertise with Apache Sentry or similar Role-Based Authorization tools for Hadoop
• Familiarity with the Linux operating system and the Bash shell
• General software engineering practice; Java is preferred, but we also write a lot of Python and Kotlin
• Ability to communicate effectively in an operations environment
• Willingness to 'get your hands dirty' in a modern Big Data environment
