DroneOps specialises in advanced navigational systems for UAV operations. Our focus is on developing robust solutions that enhance UAV autonomy and reliability, facilitating operations in environments where traditional GPS may be compromised. Our technology is designed to be integrated across a range of UAV platforms, delivering precision, resilience and cost-effective enhancements to existing hardware.

We are looking for an embedded software engineer to own the platform layer of our onboard computing: the Linux images our navigation software ships on, the provisioning and secure boot chain that protects it in the field, and the tooling that turns a bare Raspberry Pi Compute Module into a flight-ready device. Our team is small and cross-functional. You will work close to the hardware and close to the people writing the algorithms that run on it, with real ownership of the platform from the first week.

MUST HAVE SKILLS

• 3+ years of commercial experience with embedded Linux (for the Senior level; from 2 years for Middle)

• Strong Linux internals: boot flow, initramfs, systemd, journald, udev, device tree and overlays, kernel modules

• Hands-on experience with Raspberry Pi as a production platform, not only as a dev board — Compute Module 4 / 5, EEPROM and bootloader configuration, rpiboot / usbboot

• Building custom OS images: pi-gen, rpi-image-gen, or an equivalent stack (Yocto, Buildroot, debootstrap)

• Secure boot in practice: signed boot images, key management, OTP-fused key hashes, encrypted or verified rootfs (dm-crypt / LUKS, dm-verity)

• Cross-compilation and toolchain fundamentals (ARM64)

• Git and CI-driven builds (GitHub Actions)

• Reading schematics and datasheets well enough to talk to hardware engineers

• At least Intermediate English (reading docs, written async communication)

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS

• A/B (dual-slot) update schemes and OTA frameworks: RAUC, Mender, SWUpdate

• U-Boot, custom kernel configuration and patching, PREEMPT_RT

• Peripheral bring-up: UART, I2C, SPI, GPIO, CSI cameras, PPS/GNSS receivers

• ArduPilot, PX4, MAVLink or another autopilot stack

• Self-hosted GitHub Actions runners for image build pipelines

• Docker for reproducible build environments

• Power management and thermal constraints on airborne platforms

• Experience with restricted or air-gapped development environments

YOUR TASKS MAY INCLUDE

• Designing and maintaining the Raspberry Pi OS images our navigation software runs on — minimal, reproducible, versioned

• Building and operating the secure boot and provisioning chain: signing keys, OTP key programming, encrypted rootfs, factory provisioning stations

• Automating image build, signing and flashing in CI, so a release is an artifact rather than a manual procedure

• Bringing up new hardware revisions and peripherals together with the hardware team

• Implementing and testing a safe field update mechanism, including rollback

• Debugging boot, driver and performance issues on real devices — serial console, ftrace, perf, kernel logs

• Hardening the platform: attack surface reduction, secrets storage, protecting IP on a device that can be physically captured

• Writing the technical documentation and runbooks for the platform you own

WHAT WE OFFER

• Competitive salary

• Reservation from mobilization

• Office in Kyiv with shelter access, generator and Starlink

• Possibility of hybrid work format

Why Quantum-Systems:

• We Stand with Ukraine!
• We believe in the power of combined efforts: straightforward tech expertise paired with a customer-centric focus.
• We are industry pioneers who are ambitious, bold, and visionary.
• We push limits, think outside the box, and strive for technological excellence to shape the future of aerial data.
• We promise to be your runway for individual and professional growth.

Why we exist:

Swarmer develops software that makes drones autonomous and allows them to operate together, in large, coordinated teams—no pilots needed. Our technology has been battle-tested in Ukraine—the world’s most intense proving ground for drone warfare.

In March 2026, we became the first Ukrainian defense startup to go public on NASDAQ, following a $15M Series A—the largest investment in a Ukrainian defense tech company since the start of the war.

Working at Swarmer means operating at the intersection of engineering rigor and frontline reality. The problems and environments are complex, and the stakes are very real. We built this software to enable democratic nations to defend themselves.

If you are motivated by building resilient systems that matter and by seeing the direct impact of your work, you’ll find purpose here.

Who we’re looking for:

We are looking for a Head of Integration—a technically grounded leader who will own and scale our integration function as we move from early-stage deployments into full operational tempo.

This role sits at the intersection of two critical domains:

• Vendor integration—bringing third-party systems (video navigation, comms modules, and others) into our stack.
• Customer integration—making our software run on our customers’ platforms: aerial, ground, and maritime.

This position is for someone who can take chaos, structure it, and turn it into repeatable results—fast.

What you’ll do:

1. Vendor & Customer Integration

• Manage end-to-end integration of third-party solutions into the Swarmer stack.
• Own the integration of Swarmer’s software onto customer platforms—aerial, ground, and maritime.
• Lead R&D initiatives on new platform integrations and serve as the primary technical point of contact with hardware vendors.

2. Team Leadership & Process Development

• Build and scale the integration org: define team structure, hire and develop leads, grow a team across multiple sub-teams.
• Design and implement structured, predictable integration workflows to ensure consistent delivery timelines for every new customer onboarding.
• Establish and maintain documentation standards across the function, including Jira, process documentation, and integration playbooks.

What we need:

• Strong technical background: solid working knowledge of embedded systems, Linux, and hardware platforms.
• Experience managing engineering teams; comfortable leading multiple sub-teams and developing leads.
• Hands-on experience at the intersection of software and hardware.
• Systematic approach to work: ability to scope, estimate, and deliver.
• Documentation discipline—Jira, process docs, integration playbooks.
• Great organizational and communication skills: capable of aligning several stakeholders to drive project outcomes; effective cross-domain communication.
• Stress resilience, fast problem-solving, persistence, and an ownership-driven mindset.
• Excellent English level.

What would be an advantage:

• Senior embedded or Linux engineer background with a path into engineering management.
• Experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, robotics, or other hardware-intensive industries.
• Experience working with large hardware vendors.
• Familiarity with UAV platforms and their technical stack.
• Military or volunteer UAV experience.
• Technical degree (electronics, robotics, aviation, or similar).

What you’ll get:

• A dynamic environment with a unique opportunity to directly influence and see the impact of your work.
• A mission-driven role in a company building technology that directly supports Ukrainian and global defense capabilities.
• The opportunity to work on one of the most advanced and practically tested autonomy products in the defense-tech market.
• Exposure to multiple domains: hardware, autonomy, operations.
• Competitive salary, insurance, and legal benefits (reservation, etc).
• A high-ownership culture where initiative, clarity, and execution matter more than bureaucracy.

We are currently looking for an Account Manager for the defence market who will act as the link between our customers and our product and business teams. Our customers are defence and public-sector institutions with specific requirements, formal procedures, and a high cost of error. You will join the sales process early, take over the relationship once an agreement is reached, and make sure the customer consistently sees real value in working with us.

You will report directly to the CEO.

Please note that this role is based in Kyiv and is not fully remote. Regular in-person meetings with customers, often on their premises, are an essential part of the job. Occasional business trips within Ukraine may be required.

What You Will Do

• Take part in sales meetings and presentations alongside the CEO and the sales team, and take over the customer relationship once an agreement is reached.
• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned customers and keep communication regular and active.
• Prepare for and attend customer meetings, and follow up with clear summaries of what was discussed and agreed.
• Maintain a complete record of all agreements, commitments, and deadlines on both sides, and track their fulfilment.
• Translate customer needs, feedback, and requests into clear input for the product team.
• Align the business team, the product team, and the customer on priorities, scope, and timelines, and flag risks and delays early.
• Coordinate the steps needed to deliver on agreements, including pilots, deployments, trainings, and demonstrations.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and how our solutions are actually used, and act before issues escalate.
• Identify opportunities to extend and expand cooperation with existing customers.
• Communicate in line with the customer's security requirements and internal procedures.

What You Need to Join Us

• Background in Ukraine's security and defence sector, through service or close professional work with its institutions.
• Understanding of how defence and security institutions operate, including hierarchy, decision-making, and formal communication.
• Proven experience independently managing key customer relationships in account management, customer success, business development, or a similar customer-facing role.
• A business-oriented understanding of technology products: you can explain the value of our solutions and understand what the customer actually needs. Deep technical expertise is not required.
• A disciplined approach to documentation: nothing agreed gets lost, and every commitment has an owner and a deadline.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Ukrainian.
• Good command of English is highly desirable.
• Discretion, reliability, and a responsible approach to sensitive information.
• Readiness to work on customer premises, including facilities with restricted access.
• Strong sense of ownership and the ability to manage several customer relationships independently.

Why Join Us

• Work where technology meets defence - help bring AI systems into the hands of teams that rely on them in real operations.
• Direct impact - you will shape how our products evolve by bringing the customer's voice into the product team.
• Room to grow - as you prove yourself, you can take full ownership of account management, move into sales, or combine both.
• Military Deferment - available for full-time employees.
• Flexible Work Format - a results-focused environment with flexibility, while staying present with customers when needed.
