ABOUT THE PRODUCT

We are building the accounting software that accounting firms run their daily work on. The user is a professional who spends hours in front of this screen and repeats the same operation hundreds of times a day.

This is different from designing a marketing site or a consumer app. The product's core screens are data entry, tables, filters and multi-step operations. We want an interface that looks current and feels considered, but the real measure is how many seconds and how many mistakes it takes an experienced user to record an invoice.

We are not building another generic dashboard. Most accounting software looks and behaves the way it did fifteen years ago, and that is exactly the gap we're going after.

We are currently in the pre-coding phase. Business rules are being written by our domain expert, and screens will be designed and approved before they are built. The designer is part of this process, not something that happens at the end of it.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Design the product's core screens and user flows: invoice creation, customer accounts, chart of accounts, journal entry, period-end operations, reports
- Map the flows before the screens: what the user is trying to finish, where they enter, what they see at each step, and where things can go wrong
- Build fast, keyboard-first, low-click flows for users doing heavy data entry
- Design layered interactions deliberately: decide what belongs in a full page, a slide-over, a modal or a popover, and keep those choices consistent across the product
- Create a reusable component library, design system and written guidelines: tables, forms, filters, notifications, modals, type and spacing scale, and the rules for when each is used
- Design not just the ideal state of a screen, but its empty, error, loading and no-permission states
- Review your designs with the domain expert and catch conflicts with the business rules while they are still in design
- Hand off designs a developer can implement without asking questions: dimensions, states, behaviors and exceptions defined

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- At least 3 years designing B2B, internal or data-heavy products
- Experience designing complex table and form screens
- A current visual sensibility: familiar with where interface design is today and able to apply it to a dense professional tool without turning it into decoration
- You treat UX as seriously as UI. A screen that looks good but adds a step to the user's day is not a finished design
- Experience with user flows and with writing the guidelines that keep a product consistent as it grows
- Comfort with multi-layer interactions and nested flows: slide-overs, modals, popovers, and knowing when not to use them
- Fluency in Figma with components, variants and design systems
- The ability to explain why your design is the way it is, and to change it in response to feedback
- You don't need to know accounting, but you do need to be willing to learn the rules of an unfamiliar domain and ask questions

NICE TO HAVE

- Experience in accounting, finance, ERP or another regulated domain
- Experience with accessibility and keyboard-driven interfaces

Our client is an innovative tech startup building an AI-powered platform for autonomous browser and web workflow automation.

The platform combines LLMs and browser automation to execute complex, multi-step web tasks and seamlessly integrate into enterprise business workflows for clients across the US.

You will be the core designer shaping the product experience, turning complex technical logic (AI agents, dynamic selectors, automation flows, and data mappings) into intuitive, sleek, and user-friendly interfaces.

Role Overview

We are looking for a UI/UX Designer with exceptional English communication skills to lead product design across our platform.

In this role, you will design complex dashboards, workflow visualizers, configuration panels, and AI interaction patterns. Because you will collaborate directly with international stakeholders, founders, and potentially participate in user interviews or client feedback sessions, a high level of spoken and written English proficiency is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Product Design: Deliver complete design solutions from initial user flows, wireframes, and concept sketches to high-fidelity UI mockups and clickable interactive prototypes in Figma.
• Complex UI & Workflow Visualization: Design intuitive interfaces for sophisticated features like automation builders, agent run logs, integration mapping panels, and error-handling states.
• Design System Management: Build, maintain, and scale a consistent design system, component library, and design tokens in Figma.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the CTO, engineers, and product team to align on technical feasibility, product specifications, and smooth developer handoff.
• User & Stakeholder Communication: Articulate design decisions clearly, present concepts directly to leadership, and gather feedback from international users.

Requirements

• English Proficiency: C1 or higher — capable of presenting design logic effortlessly and conducting user/stakeholder discussions in English.
• AI Tool Fluency: Solid knowledge and active daily use of modern AI design tools (within Figma or as standalone platforms) to speed up workflows, iterate on concepts, generate design assets, and improve efficiency.
• Proven Track Record: Solid portfolio demonstrating experience in designing complex B2B SaaS platforms, developer tools, dashboards, or data-heavy web applications.
• Figma Mastery: Advanced proficiency with Figma (Auto-layout, reusable component architectures, interactive prototypes, variables, and design tokens).
• Systemic Thinking: Deep understanding of interaction design, user flows, edge cases, error states, and information architecture.
• Product Sense & Autonomy: Strong ownership mindset with the ability to take ambiguous requirements and turn them into structured, elegant UX solutions.

Nice to Have

• Experience designing for AI products, prompt-based interfaces, or low-code/no-code workflow builders.
• Working knowledge of front-end capabilities and constraints (HTML/CSS, React component structures).

The Opportunity

This role is for someone who shapes what's worth building, designs it by building, and owns the result in production. You explore and prototype like a designer, then carry the strong ideas all the way to a shipped front-end — one craft, not two stages with a handoff between them.

When the same person designs and builds, there's no spec to hand off and no rebuild cycle: the work moves faster and the original intent survives. You'll sit in a product squad alongside software engineers who own the systems beneath the experience. They're accountable for whether it runs; you're accountable for what it is.

Most of what gets called "AI in product" is a button bolted onto an unchanged screen. Our client is building the opposite: experiences where the agent does the work and the human reviews, corrects, and authorises it. Knowing the difference — and being able to ship it — is the judgment we're hiring for.

What You'll Do

• Explore and prototype to find the right answer. Most of what you make is for learning, not shipping. Production is where the right answer lands, not where it starts.
• Carry features through to the production front-end. The design decision and the code are the same job, in the same hands.
• Help frame what's worth building. Talk to users, pressure-test problems, and shape scope with your squad rather than waiting for a finished spec.
• Build the supervisory surfaces of an agent-native platform: a triage queue an underwriter trusts at a glance, a confidence and citation pattern they can act on, a briefing that replaces a dashboard.
• Use AI across the full loop — research, design, prototype, build, test — as the default way you work, applying real judgment to its output rather than trusting it.
• Own the invisible craft: performance, accessibility, cross-device behaviour, and the responsiveness that makes an interface feel fast.

What We're Looking For

• A builder who designs and ships front-end to production. You've owned a problem, made the call on what the experience should be, and shipped it yourself.
• Design judgment and taste. When AI produces competent interfaces instantly, telling good from merely functional is the scarce skill.
• Product instinct. You can cut scope without being told to and validate with real users rather than waiting for certainty.
• Fluency in a modern web codebase, with AI tooling at every stage. You know AI's failure modes and can tell when output looks right but isn't. We care that you can ship and know when it's right, not which framework you came up on.
• The ability to design data-rich, high-stakes interfaces for demanding professionals, and to converse credibly with seasoned insurance experts.
