About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead three SCRUM teams working on HotSchedules Labor, our workforce management product. You will own delivery, people management, and engineering processes across teams of full-stack Java developers, tech leads, and QA automation engineers.
 

This is a management-focused role. You will not write code daily, but you need strong technical depth to evaluate architectural decisions and challenge technical trade-offs. The teams use AI coding agents in their daily work, and you will be expected to support and grow this practice. The teams are distributed across Ukraine, Latin America, and the US. What you'll do:

- Help onboarding new customers (typically tennis, pickleball, padel sports clubs, indoor golf simulator clubs, volleyball clubs, etc)

- Help them set up their club account on our platform, help them understand

- Perform ongoing support for customers after they're onboarded

- Help customers understand how to align their club management needs with what our platform can offer

- Help customers debug any issues they're dealing with

- Handle requests that are incoming via email and WhatsApp/Telegram

- Contribute into our Knowledge Base based on the frequently asked questions

You:

- Have VERY comfortable spoken English

- OK with working US work hours

- You MUST be very comfrotable using AI tools. Bonus points if you use chatgpt/claude/etc in your daily life. Extra bonus points for using Claude Cowork or Claude Code and knowing what MCPs are.

- 3-5 years of JavaScript game development experience;
- Strong knowledge of HTML5/CSS3;
- Advanced Experience in creating HTML5 games;
- Advanced Javascript ES6+;
- Advanced Experience with some of libraries/frameworks (Phaser, Pixi, Three);
- Strong knowledge of object oriented and functional programming, knowledge of game programming patterns, practices and techniques;
- Understanding of performance optimization algorithms, memory management, threading;
- Good delegation and time management skills
- Problem-solving abilities
- Design highly scalable software solutions to improve functionality and system longevity
- Collaborate with project managers to implement end-to-end solutions for complex projects
- Analyze current systems to maintain integrity and improve architecture
- Train in-house personnel and other end users on software and applications
- Remain informed of current trends and technology developments
