About the role

We're looking for a Senior B Engineer who brings strong backend fundamentals and an AI-native engineering mindset to a mature, multi-tenant B2B hiring marketplace platform. This is a high-ownership role: you'll be the primary backend engineer on a lean team, responsible for performance, reliability, and feature development across a complex Rails and React codebase serving multiple enterprise clients.
We're not looking for someone who has "used Copilot a bit" - we want an engineer who works with agentic coding tools as part of their daily workflow and can critically evaluate what those tools produce.

We are looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails Engineer to join a product-driven team working on scalable web applications with a strong focus on performance, clean architecture, and business impact. The role involves building and maintaining backend services, integrating third-party systems, and collaborating closely with frontend and product teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and scale backend services using Ruby on Rails
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and backend business logic
• Work with relational databases, ensuring performance and data integrity
• Integrate third-party services (payments, marketplaces, external APIs)
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and QA
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions

Requirements

• 4+ years of commercial experience with Ruby on Rails
• Strong understanding of MVC architecture and Rails ecosystem
• Experience with PostgreSQL / MySQL
• Solid knowledge of REST APIs and background jobs (Sidekiq or similar)
• Familiarity with Git and modern development workflows
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Requirements:
