We make switching your energy and broadband suppliers simple, transparent, and rewarding, connecting people with better deals through smart tech and trusted partnerships.

We move fast, think big, and care about results that make a real impact on people’s everyday lives.

Collaboration: Works closely with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) on back end database development, alongside the Head of Performance Marketing and Managing Director, forming the three pillars that connect operations, marketing, and commercial performance.

    Location: Remote (UK hours)

    Language: English (Required)

    Role Purpose

The Head of Technical Operations & Data Management is responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimising the company’s operational and data infrastructure, ensuring that every click, lead, and sale is accurately tracked, validated, and reported.

This is a technical leadership role that sits at the heart of the business, connecting marketing execution, client delivery, and technical architecture into one cohesive system.

You will work alongside the CTO to manage and evolve database structures, ensuring scalability, integrity, and automation across all systems. You’ll also partner with the Managing Director and Head of Performance Marketing to ensure operational precision, transparent reporting, and commercial control.

    Core Responsibilities: Operational Delivery

    • Oversee end to end delivery of marketing and sales operations, ensuring performance targets are supported by robust systems.
    • Design and refine workflows that ensure smooth communication and data flow between departments.
    • Monitor lead pacing and delivery volumes, adjusting processes or system logic where needed.
    • Implement and enforce quality control standards for data accuracy and system consistency.
    • Manage integrations between platforms (marketing, CRM, reporting, partner portals, analytics tools) to ensure seamless performance tracking.
    • Develop and maintain operational documentation, process maps, and SOPs to support scalability and training.
    • Identify and resolve process bottlenecks, using automation or structural improvements where possible.

    Database Management & Reconciliation

    • Work closely with the CTO to design and maintain scalable, high performance database architectures.
    • Build and optimise relational databases (primarily in MySQL) for speed, accuracy, and scalability.
    • Develop and manage data pipelines that aggregate data from multiple systems, including marketing platforms, CRMs, analytics tools, and partner APIs.
    • Create and manage ETL processes (extract, transform, load) to maintain clean and consistent data flow.
    • Implement strict data validation, deduplication, and hygiene routines to ensure accurate reporting.
    • Conduct daily and weekly reconciliations between ad spend, lead delivery, sales outcomes, and partner reported results.
    • Build and maintain APIs or scripts using PHP and JavaScript to automate data exchange between systems.
    • Collaborate with the CTO on version control, database schema design, and integration testing.
    • Ensure GDPR compliance and data security standards are upheld across all systems.

    • Implement real time tracking and attribution systems that connect ad spend to verified outcomes.
    • Develop automation scripts to reduce manual tasks and improve reporting efficiency.
    • Maintain reporting environments in Looker Studio, Power BI, or internal visualisation tools.
    • Provide leadership with accurate, timely performance reports, reconciling all data sources.
    • Proactively identify insights or anomalies and present data driven recommendations.

    The Three Pillars

This role forms one of the businesses three pillars working in lockstep with:

    • The Managing Director, who oversees commercial strategy, partnerships, and client delivery.
    • The Head of Performance Marketing, who drives acquisition, funnel design, and campaign performance.

Together, this trio ensures the entire operation functions with complete visibility, accountability, and precision:

    • Marketing generates and optimises lead flow.
    • Operations & Data ensures accuracy, tracking, and delivery.
    • Commercial leadership drives revenue growth and client trust.

You will be responsible for ensuring this system remains connected, data verified, and technologically sound.

    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross functionally between technical, marketing, and leadership teams.
    • Strong documentation discipline and systems thinking mindset.
