About us

We’re Smart Factory — a product company building software for the manufacturing industry. Our product is gaining real traction, and we’re now opening up the German-speaking market (DACH): Germany, Austria, Switzerland). We’re looking for the person who’ll help us win it.

The role

This is a hands-on outbound sales role, and the heart of it is talking to people. In the Netherlands, one focused salesperson driving cold and semi-cold calling has been remarkably effective for us — and we want to repeat that in the German market.

You’ll:

• Open new business across DACH through cold and semi-cold calling — this is the core of the role
• Build relationships on LinkedIn: real, personal outreach (supported by light automation), with a soft-selling approach
• Give Smart Factory product demos in German (or grow into it)
• Help us make the most of our presence at a major industry trade show this September
• Own the top of the funnel — from first hello to a qualified conversation
• What we’re looking for
• Fluent or native German — this is essential. You’ll be calling, writing to, and presenting to German-speaking prospects every day.
• Proven experience in outbound sales, cold calling, or business development
• You’re comfortable — and effective — on the phone. Cold and semi-cold calling doesn’t scare you; you’re good at it.
• Solid English — our internal team works and communicates in English
• Self-driven, organized, and resilient — you can run your own pipeline without being chased
• Nice to have
• • Experience selling B2B software / SaaS, ideally to manufacturing or industrial companies • Experience giving product demos
• • Comfortable with CRM and sales-automation / LinkedIn outreach tools

Why you’ll like it

• You’re opening a market. This isn’t one more seat in an established team — you’re the person bringing Smart Factory to DACH. Real ownership, real impact.

• A playbook that already works. Our approach is proven in the Netherlands; you get to adapt it, not invent it from scratch.

• Long-term and remote, with a small, supportive team that backs you with automation and marketing.

Nice to have:

• Experience with B2B services, SaaS, or software agencies
• Experience with digital PR pitches and creating link worthy content angles

If it sounds like you, apply for our vacancies and become a new Syndicoder!

What you'll own

Product strategy & market direction

• Own a point of view on where the product should go next, grounded in usage data, cohort behavior, and market context — not every roadmap item is equally worth building.
• Track the competitive landscape and the platforms the business depends on — retailers, affiliate networks, Instagram, TikTok — and flag roadmap implications before they become urgent.

• Bring evidence to the bigger calls already on the table, such as expanding beyond current affiliate networks, so they get decided deliberately rather than discussed ad hoc.

  Roadmap & prioritisation

• Turn the backlog into a maintained, ranked roadmap with clear reasoning and sequencing.
• Decide, epic by epic, what gets built next and why — including the trade-off against tech debt — and defend that call to both the business and engineering.

Requirements & backlog craft

• Translate business requests, however they arrive, into epics and stories with real acceptance criteria.
• Run refinement: prioritize epics, break them into stories, and bring the team specs worth estimating against.
• Close out open product questions rather than letting them sit unanswered.

Data & analytics ownership

• Own and maintain the analytics metrics list.
• Convert behavioral-analytics requirements into an event taxonomy and tracking plan.
• Hold prioritization to the data — check the install-to-active funnel and early retention before committing engineering time to an onboarding redesign.

Stakeholder & delivery partnership

• Agree the sequencing of major technical work with the solution architect and project manager, so the roadmap reflects real dependencies.
• Set release scope and proactively communicate the rationale to the business.

Technical fluency & trade-offs

•  Know the systems well enough to engage properly — catalog, retailer and affiliate feeds, product matching, search, attribution, analytics, integrations — so technical decisions get product scrutiny before they're made rather than after.
• Work through scope, estimates and complexity with engineering on larger pieces: whether a simpler route fits the product's stage, and what a build-vs-buy choice costs commercially.
• Keep tech debt and dependencies visible in prioritization rather than letting them surface as surprises.
• Translate technical risks and trade-offs into commercial implications so founders can decide without in-house technical expertise.

What we're looking for

• 4+ years as a PM/PO in e-commerce, marketplaces, affiliate, or comparison commerce.
• B2C product experience, ideally mobile.
• Confident with product analytics: funnels, cohorts, retention, event tracking.
• Technical fluency with feeds, product matching, search, attribution, and integrations.
• Experience working with non-technical founders and translating tech trade-offs into business terms.
• Strong English, written and spoken.

What you’ll get at Syndicode

• Fully remote job
• Internal tech meetups
• Continuous feedback within teams and departments
• Top-notch team
• Ability to participate in decision-making and bring new ideas
• Self-management: opportunity to manage your time and plan your activities
• Dynamic, fast-growing environment: we react and adapt quickly to the world’s and market changes.

Position Overview:

As a .NET Engineer you will drive the technical modernization of a large-scale system from .NET Framework 4.8 to .NET 10. Your work will span the full backend stack — replacing Windows-only dependencies, refactoring legacy patterns, migrating data access to EF Core, and ensuring every service is portable, containerizable, and ready for AWS cloud deployment. You will collaborate closely with DevOps and database engineers as part of a cross-functional Agile team delivering a phased, production-safe migration.

Responsibilities:

• Migrate a .NET Framework 4.8 application to .NET 10.
• Migrate a large database-first Entity Framework 6 model to EF Core 8 across multiple bounded contexts, one domain at a time.
• Identify and replace Windows-only libraries and assembly references that prevent building and running on Linux.
• Establish unit test coverage measurement and enforce quality gates as part of the migration pipeline.
• Collaborate with the DevOps engineer on Dockerfile authoring, environment configuration, and secrets injection.
• Participate in Agile/SCRUM processes, conduct code reviews, and document migration decisions.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 5+ years of C# and .NET backend development with strong knowledge of ASP.NET and ASP.NET Core.
• Proven, hands-on experience migrating .NET Framework applications to .NET Core / .NET 10 in production.
• Solid experience with Entity Framework Core.
• Solid knowledge of DDD, CQRS, and repository patterns in layered .NET architectures.
• Familiarity with Docker multi-stage builds and Linux container fundamentals for .NET applications.
• Proficient with xUnit and Moq for unit testing; comfortable with container-wired test setups.
• Experience with AWS ECS / Fargate and ECR for deploying containerized .NET applications.
• Familiarity with MassTransit and RabbitMQ or Amazon MQ for event-driven messaging.
• Experience with Hangfire or similar background job processing frameworks.
• Proficient in Git and familiar with Agile/SCRUM team processes.
• Upper-Intermediate/Advanced English level

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience building CI/CD pipelines for .NET projects.
• Familiarity with micro-frontend architecture and Angular-based single-page applications.
• Experience with automated code coverage tooling and enforcing coverage thresholds in CI.
• Experience with performance optimization and scalable enterprise backend systems.

We offer*:

• Flexible working format - remote, office-based or flexible
• A competitive salary and good compensation package
• Personalized career growth
• Professional development tools (mentorship program, tech talks and trainings, centers of excellence, and more)
• Active tech communities with regular knowledge sharing

• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of AI solutions, from experimentation and model development to deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with data engineers to understand data sources, ensure data quality, and design efficient and scalable data processing approaches.
• Integrate AI solutions into production workflows and optimize them for accuracy, reliability, latency, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
• Contribute to technical architecture and design decisions, including model, framework, and tool selection; proactively identify technical risks, improvement opportunities and proactively propose solutions.
• Work with business and domain stakeholders to translate business needs into practical, scalable, and production-ready AI solutions, clearly communicating technical decisions and model limitations.
• Identify technical risks, limitations, and opportunities for improvement and proactively propose solutions.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in machine learning, AI engineering, applied data science, or related fields.
• Strong Python skills and hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.

• Solid hands-on experience designing and implementing RAG architectures, vector databases, and retrieval strategies.
• Strong understanding of the ML lifecycle, including data preparation, feature engineering, model development, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Experience working with both structured and unstructured data, including tabular data, time series, text, and documents.
• Ability to independently analyze ambiguous problems, propose technical approaches, and drive solutions from concept to implementation.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain AI concepts, technical decisions, and model behavior to non-technical stakeholders.
• Upper-Intermediate English or higher.

Nice to Have:

• Proficiency in Foundry Ontology, Object Builders, and Code Repositories.
• Experience in big pharma or highly regulated industries.
• Knowledge of data privacy, compliance, and security best practices in AI applications.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
