• Design and implement a data backup and redundancy strategy tailored to Azure VMs, explicitly excluding PaaS or SQL-as-a-Service solutions
• Set up networking components such as VNet, Network Security Groups (NSG), and connectivity between the two Azure VMs
• Validate the full functionality of the application post-migration, with particular attention to session handling due to Classic ASP session variable dependencies
• Document the entire environment and migration process comprehensively and provide a detailed handover to the internal client team
• Provide ongoing periodic maintenance and support following the migration completion

Additional Role Requirements

• Immediate availability to start, with a strict timeline of 2 to 3 weeks to complete the migration.
• Strong communication skills in English (minimum 7/10 proficiency) to interact effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
• Global candidate search with no physical location restrictions.
• Ability to overlap with North American Central Standard Time (CST) business hours for meetings and urgent migration support.

Role Clarifications

• This role is strictly focused on IT infrastructure and systems administration, not software development or cloud-native application engineering.
• No involvement with containerization, Kubernetes, Azure PaaS services, or application code migration/refactoring.
• The migration is a direct lift-and-shift with no re-architecture or service changes.

Role Purpose

Responsible for hands-on management, support, and development of Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud environments. This includes infrastructure design, networking, security, automation, incident resolution, and continuous improvement of cloud solutions. On-call and out-of-hours support is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support Azure and Microsoft 365 environments through the ticketing system, handling complex incidents and service requests.
• Perform diagnostics, root cause analysis, and resolution of incidents and problems.
• Escalate unresolved issues to external vendors according to established procedures.
• Contribute to the design, configuration, automation, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure, networking, and security components.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles and operational standards.
• Monitor system availability, capacity and performance; carry out planned maintenance and improvement tasks.
• Provide onsite and remote technical support as required.
• Comply with all internal processes, security, and EH&S policies.

Required Experience

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience managing and supporting Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud environments.
• Strong practical experience with the following:
  • Azure core services (VM, Storage, VNet, Backup, Site Recovery, High Availability)
  • Microsoft 365/Entra ID (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, licensing, hybrid environments)
  • Azure networking and security (NSG, Azure Firewall, ExpressRoute, VPN, best practices)
  • Microsoft Intune (policies, Autopilot, device management)
  • Azure Sentinel and Microsoft Defender for Cloud/Endpoint
  • PowerShell scripting and Azure Automation
  • Azure Virtual Desktop
  • Windows Server 2016–2022 and Linux administration

Required Qualifications

• University degree in IT or related field
• ITIL Foundation certification
• Active Microsoft/Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-500, MS-500 or equivalent)
• Office 365 and security certifications are a plus

The role

A global professional services company needs a senior engineer to own their Azure security and infrastructure.

If your idea of a good day involves tightening conditional access policies, investigating Sentinel alerts, working with Azure DevOps and automating Azure deployments before projects launch - this role is for you. Typical projects are ERPs, CRMs, business mobility and security suite deployments. You’ll protect cloud workloads, harden identities, manage the Microsoft security stack end-to-end, and build the automation that keeps everything running. This is a hybrid DevOps, security, identity and infrastructure architecture and management role with real ownership scope and autonomy.

What you’ll do 

• Implement and monitor cloud identity, security and DevOps processes: Azure DevOps, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel SIEM, DLP, threat protection 
• Manage identity and security: Entra ID, conditional access, RBAC, hybrid AD, B2C 
• Design and maintain Azure infrastructure: networking, compute, storage, microservices 
• Secure and administer M365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams) including migrations
• Automate infrastructure with PowerShell, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines
• Manage endpoint security via Intune, Autopilot, and CrowdStrike
