    What You’ll Do

     

    International Tax Strategy & Compliance
    - Develop and implement a global tax strategy aligned with the company’s ad-tech business model.
    - Oversee compliance in all operating jurisdictions, partnering with local advisors for timely filings.
    - Lead nexus determinations and ensure accurate collection, reporting, and filing of U.S. sales/use taxes across states.
    - Lead projects on indirect tax compliance in new jurisdictions (Australia, Canada, etc.)
    - Manage transfer pricing policies, application of corresponding tax regimes (i.e. IP box) and digital services tax exposure.
    - Developing strategies to reduce tax liabilities within the legislative framework.

    Cyprus Tax & Other Jurisdictions
    - Serve as in-house expert on Cyprus Corporate Income Tax: prepare statutory returns, relief claims, and liaise with Cyprus Tax Authorities.
    - Ensure compliance with VAT, payroll tax, and statutory reporting. 

     

    Tax Risk Management
    - Continuously identify, assess, and mitigate tax risksβ€”from employment and contractor classification to CIT and emerging digital taxes.
    - Partner with Legal, HR, and Finance to resolve disputes, audits, and contentious issues.

     

    Tax Reporting & Audits
    - Coordinate and drive local and consolidated tax audits.
    - Prepare detailed tax provisions, disclosures, and management reports for internal and external stakeholders.

     

    Process Automation & Systems
    - Evaluate, select, and implement tax technology solutions (e.g., Avalara, Vertex, RPA) to automate calculations, filings, and reporting workflows.
    - Integrate tax data streams with ERP and finance systems to eliminate manual interventions.
    - Champion continuous improvement: build dashboards and automated alerts for key tax KPIs.

     

    Collaboration & Leadership
    - Lead, mentor, and develop a lean and high-performing in-house tax team (and manage external advisors where applicable).
    - Set clear objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and foster a culture of accountability and knowledge-sharing.

    - International Taxation: Deep expertise in digital services taxes, with good understanding of OECD BEP, income tax, transfer pricing.
    USA Sales Tax & Nexus: In-depth knowledge of U.S. state-level sales/use tax, nexus rules, registrations, filings.
    - Cyprus Tax: Strong command of Cyprus CIT regime, tax filings, incentives, and statutory reporting.
    - Risk Mitigation: Proven track record managing employment-tax, CIT, VAT, digital tax, and audit exposures.
