Role Objective

We are looking for a Chief Technology Officer who can build architecture and development processes with future growth, regulatory requirements, and business priorities in mind.
This is a key position with a high level of autonomy and direct business impact.

IMPORTANT: The role requires occasional presence in our Prague office (Czech Republic) - the format and frequency are discussed individually.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute a technology strategy aligned with business goals
• Design architecture with a focus on scalability, reliability, and modularity
• Set up engineering processes and ensure code quality
• Lead the tech team: hiring, development, retention, and performance review
• Evolve DevOps practices, security, and CI/CD infrastructure
• Collaborate with C-level executives and other functions: finance, risk, product
• Audit and implement modern solutions (including future ML/AI readiness)

Tech Stack

• Backend: PHP 8.1, Symfony 6, MySQL, RabbitMQ/Kafka
• Frontend: Vue.js 3, TypeScript
• DevOps/Infrastructure: Redis, Docker, CI/CD, APM

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a CTO or Head of Engineering
• Strong understanding of fintech specifics: regulation, scale, security
• Experience with credit systems (scoring, limits, NBFI integrations, payments)
• Proven track record of building architecture from scratch or transforming legacy systems
• Experience managing teams of 10+ people: structure, process, culture
• Strategic thinking and the ability to prioritize technically
• Solid experience translating business needs into technical solutions
• Fluent English (B2+ or higher), Russian (C1+)

Key Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience, with a focus on PHP and modern ecosystem technologies.
• Symfony: Expertise in building and maintaining complex applications.
• Architectural Solutions: Design and development of sophisticated systems using SOLID principles and modern architectural patterns.
• Databases: Proficiency with relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases; query optimization and data structure design.

We are looking for a Senior PHP Software Developer / Tech Lead ready to take responsibility for architectural decisions, share expertise with the team, and ensure high standards of quality and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Take ownership of technical solutions and drive the adoption of best practices and modern architectural approaches.
• Architecture & Design: Design and evolve complex systems leveraging Domain-Driven Design (DDD), SOLID principles, scalable patterns, and clean, maintainable code.
• Development: Build and maintain high-quality, reliable PHP applications using Symfony.
• API Design & Integration: Develop and integrate REST APIs for internal and external consumers.
• Code Quality: Define coding standards, participate in code reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Performance & Reliability: Optimize databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL), queues (RabbitMQ/Kafka), and caching layers for performance and availability.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Product Owner, QA, DevOps, and other engineers to deliver business value iteratively.

• 7+ years of experience in PHP development.
• Deep expertise in Symfony and building complex, production-grade systems.
• Strong background in architectural design, DDD, SOLID, OOP, and design patterns.
• Confident working with relational and non-relational databases.
• Experience designing and integrating REST APIs and microservices.
• Proficiency with message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Solid experience with unit and integration testing.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
