• Active tech communities with regular knowledge sharing
• Education reimbursement
• Memorable anniversary presents
• Corporate events and team buildings
• Other location-specific benefits

*not applicable for freelancers

Responsibilities:

1. Ownership

   Be the analytics counterpart for a product domain 1:1 chat, content packs, negotiations, live streaming — you become the person PMs and engineers come to for any number in that area, and the person accountable when it's wrong.

2. Experiments

   Run A/B tests on product features, end to end Turn a product hypothesis into a test: primary and secondary metrics, the minimum effect worth detecting, and the audience. Confirm the population split and assignment events are genuinely correct before trusting the readout. Monitor it while it runs, then deliver a clear ship / don't-ship call and the reasoning behind it. This is a large part of the job, not an occasional project.

3. Pipelines

   Build and maintain the datasets behind your domain Write production transformations as SQL and YAML pipeline config, with freshness, uniqueness and validity checks. Your work goes through code review like any engineer's.

4. Events

   Specify instrumentation before it's built Write the BI event spec for new features across Android, iOS and Web; then verify after release that events actually fire the way the spec said, and chase the gaps when they don't.

5. Dashboards

   Own dashboards and the models under them

   Including retiring the ones nobody opens. A dashboard with no reader is a cost, not an asset.

6. Analysis

   Investigate what moved and why Revenue and conversion anomalies, feature performance, behavioural questions from PMs. Present findings to people who will act on them.

7. Incidents Size production incidents under time pressure When something breaks, you're asked how many users were affected and for how long — quickly, and precisely enough to defend the number when engineering disagrees with it.
8. Cost Keep query and pipeline cost honest Partitioning, clustering, and knowing why a query scans what it scans. Warehouse capacity is shared and finite; an expensive pipeline is everyone's problem.

Requirements:

• Advanced SQL, including window functions and multi-source joins — and the ability to reason about what a query costs, not only whether it returns.
• A strong experimentation background. Hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, power and minimum detectable effect — and the failure modes: peeking at a running test, multiple comparisons, hunting for a segment where the result works. You should also be the kind of person who checks that the experiment itself is sound before trusting its numbers.
• 3+ years as a product or data analyst on consumer products, with real exposure to both mobile and web.
• Critical use of AI analytics tooling. We use an internal Claude-based layer over BigQuery heavily. We want someone who checks what it produces before passing it on.
• Comfort shipping code: git, merge requests, reading and reviewing someone else's SQL. You'll write production pipeline code, not only notebooks and queries.
• Working knowledge of product event tracking: what a well-specified event looks like, and why the same event behaves differently across platforms.
• English at B1 or above. You'll write specifications that engineers build from and present findings to product stakeholders, so clear written English matters more than fluent speech.

Strong advantage

• BigQuery specifically — partitioned tables, clustering, slot-based pricing.
• Airflow, dbt, or another orchestrated transformation framework.
• Having been the analyst on a production incident, not only in the post-mortem.

Nice to have

• Python with the usual statistical libraries — pandas, scipy, stats models.
• A BI tool such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI — having built the models and dashboards, not only read them. We use Looker today but are moving off it, so the particular tool matters much less than having done the work in one.
• Data quality tooling such as Soda or Great Expectations.
• Experience in social, live-streaming, gaming or another engagement-driven consumer product.

Responsibilities

• Product Strategy: Define and execute product roadmaps aligned with business objectives, user needs, and company vision.
• Proactive Initiative Management: Proactively explore new opportunities to expand the product offering within the live-streaming ecosystem, driving innovation in a constantly evolving space.
• Feature Ownership: Oversee the full lifecycle of new features - from ideation and prioritization to specification and go-to-market execution.
• Data-Driven Decisions: Use data insights, user feedback, and industry trends to inform product decisions and enhance the user journey.
• Performance Monitoring: Define success metrics, track results, and iterate to continuously optimize product performance.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the central point of communication between business and technical teams, ensuring alignment and clear communication of priorities and goals.
• Production-Focused Execution: Adopt a "ship-to-production" mindset, prioritizing speed, impact, and quality in every release.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in product management, ideally in fast-paced tech or consumer app environments.
• Proven track record of launching and scaling successful products that drove measurable business results.
• Strong analytical and strategic mindset, with the ability to make clear, data-informed decisions.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills across disciplines.
• Full professional proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
• Hands-on experience with product analytics tools (e.g., Amplitude, Mixpanel, Looker).
• A plus: Experience in the gaming, social, or monetization industries, managing in-app purchases and virtual economies.

What we offer:

• International company with several offices in different locations : Tel-Aviv, Kyiv, Warsaw, Limassol.
• Granting an Option;
• A professional environment with great people to work with;
• Competitive salary, performance review;
• Flexible working hours, no one here tracks your work time because our culture is built on trust and cooperation;
• Social and welfare packages;
• 20 working days paid vacation, official public holidays, and 100% paid sick leave;
• Opportunities to make a difference, to develop and grow;
• Regular corporate celebrations, team buildings and fun activities;
• Comfortable office in Kyiv centre close to the metro station. Our Kyiv office is open 24/7 with all safety and health measures in place.

Position Overview

We’re looking for a Principal AI Engineer to define and drive the technical direction of our AI/ML systems. This role is ideal for a deeply experienced engineer who leads from the front — shaping architecture at the system level, solving the hardest problems, and raising the bar for how AI gets built and operated across the organization.

In this role, you will work on a cross-functional team, setting AI architecture standards, leading complex system design and implementation challenges, and solving integration problems that require both deep expertise and broad systems thinking. You’ll partner closely with leadership to define the AI roadmap and make high-stakes technical decisions that shape how our AI work scales across clients and over time.

Why This Role Matters

At Robots & Pencils, we design AI systems for a human world. Our name says it all. Robots and pencils means engineering paired with creativity, because every agent we ship has to work for real people in real workflows. That balance is baked into how we operate.

Every role here contributes directly to that mission. Here, you shape how AI systems integrate into enterprise operations, how teams move at real velocity, and how products create measurable impact for clients and the people they serve. We ship production-ready AI in 30 to 45 days. That pace demands people who take ownership, lead with craft, and care deeply about what they put their name on.

What You’ll Do

Craft & Delivery

• Define AI architecture and technical strategy, and lead implementation across the full lifecycle from design through production
• Build scalable ML platforms, pipelines, and workflow orchestration that support model development and event-driven, asynchronous operations at scale
• Architect and build LLM-powered systems, including prompt engineering, function/tool calling, multi-agent orchestration, RAG patterns, vector databases, embeddings, and streaming responses

• Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to navigate the most ambiguous technical and business challenges with sound judgment

You’ll Do Well Here if You Are

• A doer. You see something broken and fix it. You'd rather move on clarity than wait for certainty.
• A fast learner who knows you don't know everything. The AI landscape changes weekly. You're senior enough to know better and curious enough to keep learning anyway.
• Direct in a way that makes the work better. You give honest feedback. You'd rather have the hard conversation than blow smoke.
• Obsessed with craft. You know genius is in the details. You ship exceptional, not perfect, and you don't put your name on work you wouldn't stand behind.
• Built for ownership. You honor commitments, admit mistakes fast, and back your teammates when a decision costs something. No handoffs, no finger-pointing.
• All in. You treat clients' businesses like your own. You take the work seriously without taking yourself seriously.
• Resourceful when the budget, timeline, or team is tight. Constraints don't slow you down. They sharpen you.
• Glad to be in the room with people who care as much as you do. Our teams average fifteen-plus years of experience. We hire people who push each other to do better work.

We Offer

• 20 days of paid vacation.
• 15 days of unpaid vacation.
