Senior Performance Engineer
About this position
SoftTeco is looking for a Senior Performance Engineer to join a long-term international engagement. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who can contribute from day one: independently designing workload models, running load tests, and turning performance data into clear technical conclusions across integrated enterprise systems.
We are open to different professional backgrounds: a dedicated Performance Engineer with deep testing expertise, or a Backend (.NET), Salesforce, Cloud, or DevOps engineer with strong practical performance testing skills and the ability to quickly understand a complex technical environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain workload models and develop load test scenarios using Apache JMeter and Grafana k6
- Plan and execute performance tests to evaluate scalability, stability, and system behavior under different load conditions
- Analyze response times, throughput, error rates, and distributed traces in New Relic to identify bottlenecks and root causes of performance degradation
- Correlate load test results with application and infrastructure metrics across API, authentication, integration, and infrastructure layers
- Prepare and run data-loading scenarios across Salesforce and AWS integrations
- Work with authentication and authorization flows involving Keycloak in test scenarios
- Collaborate with developers, architects, infrastructure engineers, and the customer to understand system architecture and recommend performance optimizations
- Own performance testing end to end: from workload design and execution to analysis, reporting, and recommendations
- Continuously improve performance testing practices, automation, and analysis workflows
Use AI tools daily to accelerate test development, analysis, and troubleshooting
Technical skills
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or performance engineering, including at least 2–3 years of hands-on performance testing
- Strong practical experience designing workload models and developing and executing load tests with Apache JMeter and Grafana k6
- Hands-on experience analyzing application performance in New Relic, including metrics, traces, and error analysis
- Experience with data loading and integrations involving Salesforce and AWS
- Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms, with practical experience with Keycloak or similar solutions
- Solid understanding of backend systems, APIs, distributed architectures, and system integrations
- Programming or scripting skills sufficient to develop, maintain, and troubleshoot performance test scenarios
- Practical day-to-day use of AI tools in engineering work
- Experience with .NET or Salesforce development is a plus
- DevOps and cloud infrastructure experience is a plus
- Database experience is a plus
