We operate at the intersection of hardware, software, IoT, e-commerce, D2C, and international growth.
About the Role
We are looking for a Head of Supply Chain to take full ownership of transforming and improving the performance of our end-to-end supply chain operations, from demand planning and procurement to international logistics, warehouse operations, returns, and cost control.
Your first priority will be to translate the findings of a completed supply chain audit into a prioritized improvement plan with clear responsibilities, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
We are looking for a hands-on leader who can independently assess existing operations, build and lead a team, establish effective processes, and ensure their successful execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish a structured supply chain planning process and regular Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) in collaboration with Sales and Finance. Implement a replenishment planning process based on demand forecasts, lead times, safety stock, and inventory across all warehouses, including goods in transit and outstanding purchase orders.
- Manage inventory allocation and replenishment across markets, Amazon FBA, AWD, and third-party logistics providers (3PL). Reduce regional inventory imbalances, excess and obsolete stock, and stockout risks.
- Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including MCF and FBM. Organize and approve freight and logistics tenders based on comparable commercial terms, control total logistics costs, and diversify freight forwarders and service providers.
- Establish controls for import-related risks and documentation. Verify the reliability of service providers, review contractual terms, and ensure all required shipping documents and labeling are ready before dispatch.
- Manage relationships with product and service suppliers and 3PL providers. Oversee purchase order tracking, production timelines, and compliance with agreed deadlines and service standards across suppliers, freight forwarders, and warehouses. Review storage, handling, and transportation costs and identify invoice discrepancies.
- Establish reverse logistics processes, including returns diagnostics and traceability, inventory refurbishment and resale, supplier claims, and timely Amazon reimbursements.
- Collaborate with Product/R&D and the quality owner to coordinate inspections of components and finished products. Ensure the availability of required regulatory documentation, labeling, instruction manuals (IM), and transportation safety documents for all relevant markets. Initiate the preparation of documentation required for import and placing products on the market.
- Coordinate operational readiness for expansion into new markets and manufacturing models.
- Define the team structure, responsibilities, standard operating procedures (SOPs), KPIs, and OKRs. Establish business requirements for dashboards and system integrations, ensuring data consistency and a centralized document repository.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in international supply chain management and 2+ years of experience leading a team or managing a function with accountability for its performance and results.
- Hands-on experience managing physical product shipments from China to the US, including Amazon FBA, AWD, and 3PL operations.
- Proven experience establishing inventory planning, replenishment processes, and S&OP. Ability to justify purchase order quantities based on demand forecasts, lead times, and safety stock.
- Strong understanding of FCL/LCL, ocean and air freight, SPD/LTL, Incoterms, landed cost, and freight rate components. Experience conducting tenders and negotiating with freight forwarders and warehouse providers.
- Practical understanding of US import procedures, Importer of Record (IOR) responsibilities, customs documentation, and risks associated with third-party DDP arrangements. Understanding of accounting principles and the proper allocation of supply chain-related costs. Ability to work with customs brokers and legal advisors.
- Experience reviewing logistics and warehouse invoices, managing exceptions, claims, and reimbursements.
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills and experience with ERP/WMS or planning systems. Experience documenting processes and defining requirements for automation.
- English proficiency at C1 level, sufficient for negotiations, contract management, and daily communication with international partners.
Nice to Have
- Experience managing supply chains for electronics or electrical products.
- Experience with Canadian, EU, and UK markets.
- Experience in sourcing and manufacturing diversification.
- Knowledge of Bills of Materials (BOM) and component procurement.
- Experience working with testing laboratories and inspectors.
- Experience with DTC/Shopify, MCF/FBM, reverse logistics, and automation implementation.
- Chinese language proficiency.
Expected Outcomes
- The company has an actionable supply plan, complete inventory visibility, and clearly defined decision-making processes.
- Shipments and costs are monitored through planned-versus-actual performance tracking, with critical risks identified and escalated before dispatch.
- The improvement plan based on the audit findings is being implemented, the team operates with clearly defined responsibilities and SOPs, and management has visibility into performance through agreed KPIs.
What We Offer
- An opportunity to build and develop the supply chain function of an international product business.
- A direct impact on operational efficiency, business economics, and company scalability.
