Adobe Commerce Developer (Middle/Senior)

About the Role

We’re looking for a Middle-to-Senior Adobe Commerce (Magento) Developer with a strong backend focus who’s also comfortable picking up frontend work. You’ll work across both Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source projects, building and maintaining scalable, high-performing e-commerce solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain modules and extensions for Adobe Commerce / Magento Open Source
• Build and integrate REST/GraphQL APIs and third-party services
• Diagnose and resolve bugs and performance issues across the stack
• Optimize database queries, indexing, and caching for performance at scale
• Handle frontend tasks as needed: theme customization, Hyvä components, LESS/CSS, JavaScript/Knockout.js
• Participate in code review and uphold coding standards and best practices
• Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Adobe Commerce Cloud environments
• Monitor application health via New Relic and act on flagged performance issues

• Communicate clearly and consistently in English across tickets, PRs, and async updates

   

Requirements

• Solid, hands-on Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce development experience (Middle-to-Senior level, typically 3+ years)
• Strong PHP skills with a good grasp of OOP principles and design patterns
• Good understanding of Magento/Adobe Commerce architecture: modules, EAV, plugins/observers, indexers, message queues
• Experience with both Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce editions
• Comfortable working on frontend tasks in addition to primary backend work
• Familiarity with Git and standard CI/CD workflows
• Strong written English

Strong Advantages (Nice to Have)

• Experience building or customizing Hyvä themes
• Hands-on experience with Adobe Commerce Cloud (deployment, environment configuration, Fastly)
• Experience using New Relic for performance monitoring and troubleshooting
• Spoken English
