Project Manager - Regulatory Licensing
An international fintech group operating in the payments industry across the UK and Europe is looking for a Project Manager to take ownership of two parallel regulatory licensing projects in the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
We are looking for a hands-on PM who can manage both projects end-to-end from the business side: build the project plan, manage timelines and dependencies, coordinate internal teams and external advisors, and consistently drive both projects toward the required regulatory outcome.
Legal and specialised regulatory expertise will be supported by internal specialists and external advisors. The Project Manager's core responsibility will be to manage the overall project, coordinate all participants, maintain momentum, and ensure delivery against agreed milestones.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain the overall project plan, key stages, milestones, and dependencies across both licensing projects.
Coordinate cross-functional collaboration between Compliance, Legal, Risk, Finance, Operations, IT, and other internal stakeholders.
Manage and coordinate external legal and regulatory advisors.
Oversee the preparation and progress of required documentation, internal policies, business plans, financial forecasts, and other materials needed throughout the licensing process.
Track timelines, risks, blockers, dependencies, and project status.
Coordinate engagement with regulatory and external stakeholders as required within each project.
Manage responses to additional questions, comments, or requests arising during the regulatory review process.
Maintain accurate project documentation, task tracking, status updates, and regular reporting to management.
Coordinate post-approval activities, including operational readiness, partner onboarding, and implementation of required processes.
Projects
United Kingdom
Further development of the company's existing regulatory model and delivery of the next stage of licensing in the UK.
Switzerland
Launch of a new regulatory track, including the relevant licensing / membership process and subsequent development of the required payment infrastructure.
What We Are Looking For
Experience as a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager within fintech, payments, banking, or another regulated industry.
Strong track record of managing complex cross-functional projects.
Experience with EMI / PI / PSP / financial licensing projects will be a strong advantage.
Good understanding of how regulatory projects are structured, including documentation flows, timelines, dependencies, regulator requests, and collaboration with external counsel.
Experience coordinating multiple functions at the same time, such as Compliance, Legal, Risk, Finance, IT, and Operations.
Ability to independently structure projects, manage deadlines, identify risks, and drive execution through to completion.
A hands-on mindset and willingness to be directly involved in project execution rather than operating only at an advisory level.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Languages
English - confident working proficiency, sufficient for communication with external advisors, partners, internal teams, and for working with regulatory documentation.
Fluent Russian or Ukrainian will be a strong advantage.
Working Format
Remote.
The role includes occasional business travel to the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Malta, depending on project stages and business needs.
