Engineering Community Coordinator

We are looking for an Engineering Community Coordinator to build and sustain active engineering communities across Sombra. This role focuses on connecting engineers across projects and disciplines, coordinating knowledge-sharing initiatives, and creating a consistent space for collaboration. You will work closely with stream leaders and community champions to strengthen engineering culture across distributed teams.

 

Required for this role

  • Experience in community management, program coordination, training coordination, project coordination, or a similar role.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong facilitation skills for supporting discussions, sessions, workshops, and community activities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to drive initiatives across multiple teams without direct authority.
  • Strong interest in technology and engineering culture.
  • Experience working in software development or technology organizations.
  • Experience organizing technical events, conferences, meetups, or learning programs.

 

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting distributed or global teams.
  • Familiarity with knowledge management tools and collaboration platforms.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Coordinate and sustain engineering communities across Software Engineering, QA, DevOps, Data, AI, UX, Business Analysis, and other streams.
  • Maintain a regular cadence of knowledge-sharing activities that keep engineering communities active and connected.
  • Organize technical talks, workshops, panel discussions, hackathons, and other community events.
  • Coordinate speakers, schedules, communications, event preparation, and follow-up activities.
  • Work closely with stream leaders and community champions to identify speakers, plan content, and maintain a pipeline of community initiatives.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing across projects, teams, disciplines, and locations.
  • Help ensure engineers across distributed teams are actively engaged in a unified engineering community.
  • Track participation, engagement, and community health metrics, and provide regular insights and recommendations to the CTO.
