Mechanical Design Engineer / Інженер-Конструктор (R and D)
About the Job
At ARX Robotics, hardware is not a support function — it is the foundation of everything we field. As a Mechanical Design Engineer in our R&D team, you will own the full mechanical design lifecycle: from early concept and 3D modeling through prototyping, testing, and handover to production.
This is a hands-on role where your decisions carry real weight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, design and optimize mechanical assemblies and components for product improvement.
- Create 3D models and 2D drawings that translate engineering intent into manufacturable reality.
- Prepare complete design documentation packages aligned with ISO, GD&T, and other relevant standards.
- Develop and test prototypes that go from the bench to the field, ensuring they are refined and built to survive real-world conditions.
- Ownership of individual projects and taking responsibility for their final quality and timely completion.
- Driving projects from initiation through to completion.
Engineering of R&D solutions (product design, specification preparation, coordination of manufacturing and testing activities).
Qualifications:
- 2-3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or hardware R&D.
- Confident command of 3D modeling and 2D drafting tools (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, Fusion 360).
- Practical experience with 3D printing technologies (FDM, SLS, SLM).
- Solid understanding of mechanics, materials science, and engineering tolerances.
- Experience working with metal construction design.
- The ability to prepare a full design documentation package for production.
- Background in R&D environments, showing you are comfortable with iteration, uncertainty, and building things that do not yet exist.
- Upper-Intermediate English to communicate clearly with international teams and partners.
- A mindset that balances technical precision with pragmatic, fast iteration.
Would be a plus:
- Practical experience with manufacturing processes (metal parts production).
- Experience in electrical design (EPLAN electric).
Experience in embedded systems development or hardware with embedded components.
We Offer:
- Impactful Work: A high-impact role shaping next-generation technologies used by leading world armies and first responders.
- Professional Growth: Opportunities for development and training, including potential programs in Germany.
- Direct Feedback: Close collaboration with end-users and the chance to see the immediate impact of your work in the field.
- Agile Environment: A fast-paced work culture with minimal bureaucracy.
- Medical Insurance.
- Office-based role: Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:00.
Please note: You do not need to meet every single requirement to apply. We welcome motivated candidates who are eager to grow into the role and develop their expertise further.
