ARX Robotics Ukraine is looking for an experienced test engineer to join a team shaping the future of autonomous systems for both defense and civilian applications. Our rapidly expanding company, specializing in autonomous unmanned systems and sensors, is looking for a passionate and skilled Senior Hardware Engineer to drive innovation in our growing Kyiv team. In this role, you will lead the development and integration of cutting-edge electrical systems for our autonomous robots.

Key Responsibilities:

• Development: define of requirements, improvement, and integration of electrical and mechanical systems for autonomous ground platforms.
• Component selection: evaluate, select, and qualify components and suppliers to meet system requirements.
• Team collaboration: work closely with mechanical, software and customer success teams to ensure fast and efficient implementation of solutions that meet user requirements.
• Documentation: create and maintain technical documentation related to ongoing processes and projects.
• Users technical support: provide technical support, troubleshooting for robotic systems both in field conditions and remotely.
• User training: take part in user training and ongoing education on UGV operation.
• Support and promotion of initiatives as for improvement of technical solutions, as well as technical participation in testing and validation of new solutions.

Qualifications:

• Technical education in mechatronics, electronics, mechanics, or related fields. Background in robotics will be a plus.
• Analytical and troubleshooting skills proven by working experience.
• Strong experience in technical support and coordination of large-scale projects, as well as managing multiple technical projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of integration and configuration of industrial protocols and network interfaces (including CAN, Ethernet, serial, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, and others).
• Experience in both electrical and mechanical design will be a plus (EPLAN, Autocad Inventor).
• Willingness to travel for business trips across Ukraine.
• Both driver’s license and driving experience on a mechanical gearbox are mandatory.
• English communication skills — fluent.

• Develop and implement field testing methodologies, validation procedures, and acceptance criteria for autonomous robotic systems and their mechanical and control subsystems.
• Plan, organize, and conduct internal, field and operational tests for unmanned ground platforms.
• Analyze, document, and systematize testing results, preparing detailed technical reports and recommendations as for both mechanical and control subsystems.
• Participate in the development, evaluation, and implementation of new technical solutions aimed at improving overall system performance and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with the overall company`s teams to ensure efficient validation and integration of new features and improvements.
• Organize and conduct complex technical training, including repair and maintenance procedures and exercises for operators and technical personnel.
• Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of technical issues identified during testing and operation.

Qualifications:

• Technical education in mechatronics, electronics, mechanics, or related fields as well as background in robotics will be a plus.
• Strong experience in developing testing methodologies and validation processes for complex both mechanical and control systems is a mast.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and experience in troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical circuit faults is a must.
• Experience in technical documentation creating, structured analysis, and reporting of test results.
• Proven experience in organizing and conducting of technical trainings for direct users.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with experience of teams managing and coordinating personnel in multitask environments.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel for business trips across Ukraine.

About the Job 

ARX Ukraine is looking for a motivated Junior Software Engineer to join our cross-functional team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between our development lab and real-world environments, ensuring our products perform reliably in the field. You will be responsible for deploying, testing, and fine-tuning software on physical hardware, working closely with both our engineering team and end-users. 

This is an ideal role for a Junior Software Engineer who enjoys hands-on work.

Key Responsibilities 

• Deployment & Integration: Assist in deploying software updates to our products and integrating various sensors and communication modules. 
• Field Testing: Participate in field trials to validate software performance, collect logs, and identify areas for optimization in real-world conditions. 
• Troubleshooting: Provide technical support and troubleshoot software-hardware interactions both onsite and remotely. Ability to read and understand program code. 
• Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of system configurations, testing procedures, and development processes. 
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work alongside the Team Lead and senior engineers to incorporate user feedback into our software development lifecycle. 

Qualifications 

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, or a related field. 
• Technical Proficiency: Command of modern C++ and familiarity with object-oriented design principles. 
• System Knowledge: Familiarity with Embedded Linux and development for resource-constrained “Edge” devices. 
• Tools: Basic experience with version control (e.g., Git) and an understanding of software development methodologies. 
• Robotics Fundamentals: Knowledge of robotics concepts and tools; experience with ROS2 is a significant advantage 
• Communication: Good problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively in English. 
• Mobility: Willingness to work onsite in the Kyiv area and participate in outdoor field testing. 
• English: At least B1 level
