Data Platform Engineer (Databricks / Unity Catalog)

We're looking for a Data Platform Engineer with strong Databricks and Unity Catalog experience to join the data platform team of a large European banking group. 

Responsibilities:

• Configure data access in Unity Catalog: catalogs, schemas, grants, views
• Manage infrastructure through Terraform, with changes via pull request
• Integrate data from legacy systems
• Provide operational support: sprint on-call rotation, Jira ticket handling
• Communicate with internal stakeholders about platform capabilities and limitations

Requirements:

• 2+ years of Databricks experience in production
• Experience with Unity Catalog: grants, access rights, row-level security
• Strong hands-on Terraform experience
• Experience with Azure: AD/Entra groups, resource groups, basic networking
• Strong SQL
• Experience working with Git via pull requests
• Comfortable with operational work and ticket-based support — this makes up about half of the role
• Able to explain technical limitations to stakeholders and propose alternatives

Nice to have:

• Experience in banking or another regulated industry
• Experience working specifically in a platform team
• Knowledge of Databricks CLI/SDK

Please note: This is a Middle-level, hands-on role - not a Senior/Architect position. Candidates looking to grow into ML or solution architecture won't find that scope here.
