Website Designer / UI/UX Designer
About the Role
We are looking for a talented Website Designer / UI/UX Designer to join our team on a project-by-project basis.
You will be responsible for designing modern, high-quality websites that are visually impressive, intuitive to use, and accurately aligned with the client's brand and requirements.
We are looking for someone with a strong eye for detail who understands both design and user experience and can take a brief from initial concept through to a polished, developer-ready design.
Responsibilities
- Design modern, responsive websites for desktop, tablet and mobile
- Create high-quality UI/UX designs and user journeys
- Develop wireframes, layouts and high-fidelity designs
- Work confidently in Figma
- Create reusable components and organised design systems
- Ensure designs are consistent across all pages and devices
- Work closely with developers to ensure designs are implemented accurately
- Review and improve existing website designs based on feedback and QA
- Communicate clearly throughout the design and development process
- Meet agreed deadlines and deliver work to a high standard
Requirements
- Proven experience designing professional websites
- Strong portfolio demonstrating previous website/UI/UX work
- Advanced knowledge of Figma
- Strong understanding of responsive web design
- Excellent understanding of typography, spacing, colour and visual hierarchy
- Understanding of UX principles and conversion-focused design
- Ability to work from a brief and also contribute your own creative ideas
- Excellent attention to detail
- Reliable communication and ability to meet deadlines
Nice to Have
- Experience working alongside web developers
- Experience designing for e-commerce, fintech or other digital businesses
- Knowledge of modern web design trends
- Experience creating design systems and component libraries
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS
