AI Architect
About the Client
Our client is an Israel-based technology company rebuilding a strategic military simulation and decision-support platform.
The product is designed to model modern multi-domain conflict across land, air, maritime, subsurface, cyber, information, and cognitive domains. It will support human-vs-human, human-vs-AI, and AI-vs-AI scenarios.
This is a full-time, long-term role. The team is being formed as the product develops, and this person will have a meaningful influence on its technical direction and architecture.
The Role
We are looking for a hands-on AI Architect / Technical Lead to help redesign an existing prototype and turn a complex strategic-simulation concept into a working product.
You will own key architectural decisions across AI, simulation, knowledge representation, and system design. The product direction combines LLMs and generative AI with formal knowledge, rules, structured world models, and symbolic reasoning.
What Youโll Do
- Define and own the overall software and AI architecture of the platform.
- Lead the technical redesign and hands-on development of the existing prototype.
- Design simulation, decision-support, and AI-driven components for multi-domain military scenarios.
- Combine LLMs and generative AI with formal knowledge, rules, symbolic reasoning, and structured world models.
- Build practical prototypes quickly while establishing a clear path toward a robust production product.
- Work directly with domain experts to translate military and operational concepts into usable software models.
- Drive technical decisions, evaluate trade-offs, and set architectural standards as the team grows.
What You Bring
- Strong hands-on experience in software and AI architecture for complex products.
- Practical experience with LLMs, generative AI, and neuro-symbolic or symbolic-AI approaches.
- Experience with knowledge representation, knowledge graphs, ontologies, structured world models, or rule-based systems.
- Proven ability to move from ambiguous concepts to working software and prototypes.
- Strong product-engineering mindset: you can design, build, and iterate, not only research or advise.
- Relevant experience in military simulation, wargaming, defence software, command-and-control systems, operational research, military decision support, or a closely related domain.
- Ability to take technical ownership in an early-stage, fast-moving environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with professional or serious wargaming systems.
- Experience with simulation or game-engine technologies.
- Experience building AI agents or multi-agent systems.
- Background in military AI, defence technology, intelligence, or operational planning.
- Experience with explainable AI, formal logic, automated reasoning, or semantic technologies.
