PSP Onboarding Relationship Manager
A leading payments consultancy specializing in fintech is growing its payments team โ expanding and managing global payment solutions for merchants, while maintaining strong relationships with PSPs, EMIs, banks, acquirers, and other payment partners. You'll own the full journey from initial merchant assessment through onboarding and go-live, working across partner communication, documentation, and internal coordination.
About the Role
We're looking for a PSP Onboarding & Relationship Manager who doesn't just push documents through a pipeline โ someone who genuinely understands how PSPs think, what makes an onboarding case strong or weak, and how to keep multiple partner relationships moving forward without losing precision on any single one.
This role is focused primarily on PSPs and acquirers โ a world that moves faster and is more commercially flexible than EMI or banking relationships, but still demands sharp judgment, strong documentation, and real relationship-building. You won't be dealing with the same regulatory depth as EMI onboarding, but you'll need to move quickly across multiple providers, jurisdictions, and merchant profiles, matching the right PSP to the right business case.
What You'll Do
PSP & Partner Relationship Management
- Manage onboarding processes with PSPs, EMIs, banks, acquirers, and other payment partners
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with external financial partners โ the kind that get you clarity faster when something stalls
- Evaluate potential new PSPs, EMIs, jurisdictions, and payment solutions based on real business needs, not just availability
- Compare providers across key factors โ onboarding feasibility, industry fit, geography, settlement flows, and commercial terms โ with a critical, detail-oriented eye
Onboarding Coordination
- Coordinate end-to-end onboarding requirements, including KYB/KYC documentation, application forms, supporting files, and follow-ups
- Support internal teams and merchants/clients on payment setup, onboarding requirements, and operational questions
- Help drive partner launches from initial outreach or request through approval and go-live โ you own the case until it's actually live, not just submitted
Process & Continuous Improvement
- Track onboarding pipelines, outstanding requirements, and partner communication in CRM and internal trackers
- Identify onboarding bottlenecks and proactively improve internal processes for speed, quality, and transparency
- Manage several onboarding cases or partner workstreams simultaneously without losing sight of the details that actually determine approval
Who You Are
- You have 1โ3+ years of experience in fintech, payments, PSPs, EMIs, acquiring, banking relationships, or payment operations
- You have exposure to local acquiring, cross-border acquiring, alternative payment methods, or multi-entity payment setups
- You have a practical understanding of merchant onboarding, KYB/KYC requirements, SEPA/SWIFT basics, payment flows, and acquiring concepts โ not just textbook knowledge
- You've worked with one or more of the following: PSPs, acquirers, EMIs, banks, payment gateways, or APM providers
- You understand that PSP onboarding moves faster and is more commercially driven than EMI or banking relationships โ and you know how to operate effectively at that pace without cutting corners
- You're a balanced perfectionist โ thorough enough to catch what others miss in documentation, but pragmatic enough to keep cases moving
- You're fluent in English, both written and verbal โ confident enough to build trust with partners and stakeholders across jurisdictions without language ever being a barrier
- You can manage multiple onboarding cases at once without letting quality slip on any of them
- You take high ownership โ you follow through on a case until it's actually resolved, not just moved to the next stage
- You're proactive by default โ you flag bottlenecks and propose fixes before being asked
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with governance structures, AML/KYC frameworks, or company formations
- Experience working with merchants in high-risk industries
- Exposure to multiple jurisdictions and cross-border payment regulations
What We Offer
- 100% remote role โ work from wherever you're most effective
- Direct exposure to global PSPs, EMIs, banks, and fast-growing fintech businesses
- An international, dynamic, and commercially driven environment where your judgment and relationships directly shape outcomes
- Real ownership over onboarding cases from first contact to go-live โ not just a piece of the process
If you can move fast without cutting corners โ and you genuinely enjoy the puzzle of matching the right PSP to the right business โ we want to hear from you. Send your CV and a few lines on your relevant experience. We're reviewing candidates on a rolling basis.
