As a Conversion Engineer, you’ll perform all operational steps of the medical case. In the Segmentation and Pre-Planning step, the conversion engineer converts DICOM MRI or CT images into 3D models of the femur and tibia bones and creates landmarking to visualize axes and cuts for further surgical planning. According to the approved planning report from the surgeon, the conversion engineer creates the guide design and bone models (if requested). The main goal is to use Materialise software to add value to people’s lives by performing accurate 3D virtual surgical planning and customizing surgical guides for orthopaedic surgery worldwide.

 

Responsibilities:
 

  • Use Materialise software to convert 2D medical images; (radiology/CT/MRI) to 3D bone models;
  • ​​ Perform pre-surgical planning on the 3D bone models;
  • Adjust automated surgical guides (such as knee surgery guides) to be used by the orthopaedic surgeon during the actual surgery.
     

Requirements:
 

  • Technical background is required;
  • English: at least pre-intermediate;
  • Good communication skills;
  • A successful candidate should be an open-minded, positive-thinking, and communicative person.


Will be a plus:
 

  • MS/BS degree in biomedical engineering or medicine;
  • Knowledge in 3D CAD/medical imaging or anatomy.
