We are looking for a highly capable AI-First Golang Team Lead Engineer to join a project where they'll build an AI tourism platform. This is not a traditional coding role. We donβt need coders; we need engineers who build features end-to-end using AI coding tools (Claude Code preferably!).
Details !!:
- CRITICAL: 2-3+ years of technical leadership experience leading a team, squad, pod, or similar unit (a hard must). Demonstrable experience of leading delivery within a team: coordinating, breaking work down, representing the team in planning and stakeholder conversations, facilitating outcomes.
- CRITICAL: Senior Golang Developer, 5+ years of experience
- CRITICAL: AI-first delivery: proven, demonstrable experience using Claude Code or similar agentic AI tools is a hard must (specific examples expected on the application).
- CRITICAL: Strong proficiency in English (Upper-intermediate level or Advanced)
- Hands-on engineering position
- Not a people-management role
You must have:
β 2-3+ years of technical leadership experience leading a team, squad, pod or similar unit (a hard must, think team lead or early-stage engineering manager)
β A developer's background (5 years minimum): you have seen production reality with your own hands before moving towards leading people
β A genuinely product-driven mindset: you think about user value and business outcomes before implementation
β Comfort facilitating and coordinating a pod without relying on formal authority
β Willingness and ability to take part in client meetings and act as the external face of your pod
β Excellent spoken and written English for planning sessions, stakeholder updates and client conversations
β Ownership mentality with a strive for elegantly simple, high-quality solutions; you test your own work thoroughly since we have no QA team
β Proven experience using Claude Code; share specific examples
β Solid Golang experience; you'll review AI's code, and you must understand how it works
β Ability to do on-call once in a while to help maintain our platform's reliability & uptime
β European or African time zones (Β±3 hours from CET)
β Available full-time (40 hours/week). Must-Have Requirements (Team Lead β no flexibility on any)
β Go (Golang): Real production experience, not just personal projects. No flexibility on other technologies.
β AI/backend engineering: Deep knowledge of building and productionizing complex AI systems β observability, reliability, quality
β Product mindset: Ability to think beyond engineering toward product outcomes
β Leadership: Capable of leading without needing coaching or internal mentoring
β English communication: Very strong, given client-facing responsibilities
β Minimum 5 years of experience across the board
β Candidates should be responsible for testing their own code β QA ownership expected
β The Team Lead will head a small pod (not a traditional manager with direct reports)
β Client-facing responsibilities begin from onboarding, with full client-facing ownership expected to grow over time
Also, they will have on-call duties (now itβs during working hours and weekends, rotation among team members, but later they want to have 24/7 on call, so one person will be on-call for 24 hours (probably) and it will be compensated extra). Desirable skills (would be a benefit): Any special requirements for the person
Nice-to-Have
β German language: A significant bonus but not required β the one criterion the client can flex on
