Senior PHP/Laravel Engineer
On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Senior PHP/Laravel Engineer.
About the Project
A healthcare technology company developing new efficiency-focused applications and services. The initial work includes an automation platform for interactions with insurance companies and a secure document management platform for document exchange between doctors, hospitals, and insurance companies.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop backend applications and services using PHP and Laravel
- Take ownership of application architecture and system design
- Build and maintain APIs and integrations with internal and external systems
- Design and work with MySQL databases
- Develop new applications and services from the ground up
- Integrate new Laravel services with existing legacy systems
- Build straightforward frontend functionality when required
- Translate project specifications into technical solutions
- Clarify requirements and communicate directly with stakeholders
- Drive assigned projects forward independently
- Collaborate with backend, frontend, DevOps, and Project Manager teams
- Participate in Agile development and two-week sprints
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience with Laravel
- Strong commercial experience with PHP
- Strong hands-on experience with Laravel
- Strong experience with MySQL
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs and system integrations
- Experience building applications or platforms from the ground up
- Strong understanding of backend architecture and system design
- Ability to take ownership of projects and work independently
- Experience delivering end-to-end web applications
- Experience with React
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Vue.js
- Experience with Laravel Livewire
- Experience working with legacy systems and brownfield environments
- Previous experience with healthcare, insurance, document-management, or workflow automation systems
