Senior QA Automation Engineer
Our Partner is building a monitoring and management platform for critical energy infrastructure, helping operators securely monitor and manage power plants and looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer who will own the QA function, define the testing strategy, and establish automation processes across the platform.
You will become the first QA specialist in the company, working closely with Backend Engineers and the CTO to build a modern, automation-first testing environment.
Main Responsibilities
– Design and implement the overall QA strategy for the platform.
– Build and maintain automated test suites for APIs and backend services.
– Develop test automation using Python (pytest).
– Test REST APIs, authentication, permissions, and business logic.
– Validate asynchronous workflows and background jobs (Celery).
– Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline.
– Design regression testing and release quality gates.
– Work closely with developers to improve software quality throughout the development lifecycle.
– Use AI-assisted development tools to improve testing efficiency and automation.
– Continuously improve QA processes and engineering standards.
Mandatory Requirements
– 5+ years in QA with at least 3 years in Test Automation.
– Strong hands-on experience with Python test automation (pytest).
– Solid API testing experience (REST).
– Experience testing asynchronous/background processes (Celery or similar).
– Experience building automated testing frameworks or QA processes from scratch.
– Experience with SQL and CI/CD pipelines for automated testing.
– Risk-based testing approach.
– English — B1+ (technical documentation, written communication, collaboration with the engineering team)
Nice to Have
– Experience with industrial, IoT or energy systems.
– Experience testing hardware-integrated systems.
– Knowledge of OPC UA, Modbus or similar industrial protocols.
– Performance and load testing experience.
