Project Description

Our client is a global leader in eye care and medical technologies, continuously evolving its medical devices through connectivity features and cloud-based digital services.

As healthcare organizations gradually transition to modern digital ecosystems, many environments still operate with a combination of legacy and next-generation devices. This project focuses on bridging that gap by developing tools, services, and integration frameworks that enable seamless connectivity between legacy medical devices and modern cloud and on-premises platforms.

The engineering team is responsible for building secure, scalable, and reliable solutions that ensure data interoperability, integrity, and compliance across medical systems. The project is currently moving from solution design into active implementation, making this an opportunity to influence technical decisions, architecture, and engineering practices from an early stage.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of commercial experience with C#/.NET (preferably .NET 7 or newer).
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience developing desktop applications using WPF.
  • Previous experience leading engineering teams or acting as a Technical Lead for at least 5 years.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills, including experience working with complex legacy systems.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture, application design, and desktop application development best practices.
  • Experience working with API integrations and distributed systems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make technical decisions in ambiguous environments.
  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to translate high-level business requirements into technical solutions by asking the right questions.
  • Experience with effort estimation, task planning, risk identification, and delivery management.
  • Excellent communication skills with confidence working directly with customers and product stakeholders.
  • Pragmatic, collaborative, and humble mindset with strong ownership.
  • Nice to have: experience with C++ and interoperability between native and .NET applications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design, development, and delivery of complex desktop applications built with C#/.NET and WPF.
  • Drive architectural decisions and establish engineering best practices to ensure high-quality, maintainable, and scalable software.
  • Design and implement new features, integrations, and reusable components based on product requirements and customer needs.
  • Analyze complex technical problems, perform root cause investigations, and provide reliable long-term solutions.
  • Work closely with Product Owners and customer stakeholders to clarify requirements, define technical approaches, and translate business needs into implementation plans.
  • Estimate development efforts, identify technical risks, communicate project status, and proactively address delivery challenges.
  • Mentor and support engineers within the team, providing technical guidance and code reviews while fostering engineering excellence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, validation, and deployment.
  • Contribute to the modernization of medical device software by enabling integration between legacy systems and modern cloud-based healthcare platforms while ensuring reliability, security, and interoperability.
