Backbone Build Engineer
Trinetix is looking for a proactive and technically skilled Backbone Build Engineer.

In this role, you will play a key part in delivering critical backbone infrastructure projects, including data center migrations, fiber deployments, and capacity upgrades. Working within a fast-paced, multivendor ecosystem, you will manage supplier relationships and help ensure the timely and successful delivery of services.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead and execute data center and customer circuit migrations.
- Coordinate with third-party providers to install new fiber and deliver services (e.g., tails, cross-connects).
- Work closely with field technicians to verify fiber patching and physical connectivity.
- Validate fiber connections and troubleshoot issues related to DWDM backbone link onboarding.
- Manage escalations and drive resolution for high-impact infrastructure issues.
- Ensure timely and quality delivery of backbone orders by staying on top of supplier commitments.
- Perform network configuration and troubleshooting using CLI across various network operating systems (Cisco IOS, Junos, Arista EOS).
Requirements
- Solid experience in network infrastructure projects, especially data center migrations and fiber installations.
- Hands-on experience with CLI in a multivendor environment (Cisco IOS, Junos, Arista EOS).
- Familiarity with DWDM systems for verification and troubleshooting of fiber connectivity.
- Proven ability to manage suppliers and coordinate service delivery (e.g., fiber, tails, cross-connects).
- Strong understanding of network protocols and configurations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Effective communication and coordination skills across internal teams and external partners.
Nice-to-haves
- Certifications such as CCNA or equivalent (not mandatory but appreciated).
- Experience with other network technologies and equipment.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
