SEO expert for 2 audits

Summary

We're preparing to roll out a brand-new marketplace section on our platform. Before we remove the staging gates, open up indexing, and kick off a massive programmatic expansion, we need a sharp, hands-on Technical SEO specialist to audit our foundation and stress-test our scaling strategy.

This initial project covers a full technical audit and expansion roadmap for Phase 1 (approx. 50+ pages). If we hit it off, there's an immediate second phase with an identical scope for another high-priority section of our site.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll dive into a gated staging environment (we'll provide crawler access credentials) currently set to noindex, nofollow and deliver a prioritized breakdown (P0/P1/P2) across five key areas:

1. Technical Foundation & Indexability

• Audit schema markup accuracy across dynamic page templates (ItemList, Organization, local business schemas, etc.)
• Validate canonical structures, dynamic sitemaps, and base-path routing logic (/staging/ vs. final production URL architecture)
• Plan for redirects, crawl efficiency, and Core Web Vitals readiness

2. Keyword Strategy & Information Architecture

• Ensure page templates match target search intent without thin content or cannibalisation risks
• Run a competitive gap analysis against top players in our space

3. Internal Linking & Site Structure

• Evaluate hub-and-spoke structures, orphan risk, and anchor text distribution
• Map out how this new section should interlink with our primary root domain

4. Programmatic Expansion & Scaling Strategy (Crucial)

• Critique our plan to scale into hundreds of dynamic programmatic URLs (geo-hubs, category pages, guides)
• Evaluate our Supply Gate Rule (indexing pages only once they hit a specific threshold of live listings) to prevent thin or doorway page penalties
• Advise on URL architecture, link equity distribution, and crawl budget management at scale

5. Pre-Launch Flip Plan

• Outline a strict checklist of non-negotiable fixes required before we turn on search engine indexing

Deliverables

• Prioritised Findings Document — Actionable feedback broken down by severity (P0, P1, P2) with concrete dev instructions
• Expansion Build Roadmap — Recommended rollout sequence for page types and geographic/category expansions
• Pre-Launch Checklist — The sign-off sheet before we flip the switch

Who You Are

• A seasoned SEO engineer or technical SEO consultant with proven experience in programmatic SEO (pSEO) and directory or marketplace platforms
• Fluent in schema, JS rendering, crawl logs, and index management
• Pragmatic and direct — you deliver clear, actionable fixes prioritized by real business impact, not just raw automated site audits
• Excellent written communication skills
