FutureMedia is a dynamic, remote-first digital services company specializing in SaaS products, AI-powered solutions, and web and mobile application development. Our team brings together diverse digital experts who focus on innovation, problem-solving, and delivering impactful, technology-driven products for clients across global markets.

We design, develop, build, and analyze. We deliver impactful digital products and services — SaaS products, AI-powered solutions, web and mobile applications. As pioneers in the digital services space, we’re a team that knows how to innovate while having fun. Remote-first, but connection and collaboration are at our core.

About the Role

Data is one of FutureMedia’s most valuable untapped assets. We are now investing seriously in the people and infrastructure needed to unlock it. We are looking for a Head of Data to own this end-to-end, reporting directly to the CTO.

You will be the first dedicated data leader in the business — responsible for the strategy, infrastructure, culture, and team that turn raw product data into a genuine competitive advantage. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will architect, build, and deliver while hiring and mentoring the team around you.

The right person is equally comfortable writing SQL and presenting to the executive team — strategic enough to set direction and practical enough to ship it.

What You’ll DoStrategy & Infrastructure

  • Define and own the company’s data strategy, roadmap, and operating model — treating data as a core organisational asset and a product, not a by-product
  • Design and build core data infrastructure from scratch: warehouse, pipelines, instrumentation, CDP, transformation, and BI layers
  • Own data security and governance: access controls, data classification, PII handling, retention, and privacy compliance (GDPR), embedding privacy-by-design from day one

Analytics & Insights

  • Define the metrics that matter across acquisition, activation, retention, and monetisation — and align them to company goals
  • Own subscription analytics: churn modelling, LTV forecasting, cohort analysis, and pricing signals
  • Develop self-serve reporting and a healthy experimentation culture, so every team can answer its own questions without a queue
  • Drive AI/ML initiatives where they create measurable product or business value

Leadership & Cross-functional Partnership

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing data team — engineers, BI analysts, data analysts, and data scientists — scaling the function in line with business growth
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, and Engineering to make data-informed decisions the default, not the exception
  • Translate data capabilities into business outcomes — not just dashboards

What We’re Looking For (Must-Have)

  • 7+ years in data roles, including experience building, leading, or mentoring a team
  • Proven track record in a B2C SaaS environment, ideally with subscription-based revenue
  • Deep hands-on SQL skills and experience with a modern cloud data warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift)
  • Experience with at least one orchestration or transformation tool (dbt, Airflow, or similar)
  • Experience building data infrastructure and analytics capability from an early stage in a fast-moving, resource-constrained environment
  • Strong commercial acumen: you connect data capability to business outcomes and translate data into decisions, not just dashboards
  • Familiarity with product analytics tools (Amplitude, Mixpanel, Segment, or similar)
  • Working knowledge of data privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, or similar) and how they shape data handling
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership

Nice to Have

  • Experience with multi-product platforms or managing data across diverse verticals
  • Working knowledge of ML/AI applications in a product context (recommendation, churn prediction, and similar)
  • Python or R proficiency for advanced analysis and modelling

Working Conditions

  • Competitive compensation
  • Remote-first culture with flexible working hours
  • 22 paid vacation days + local national holidays
  • Opportunity to shape the excellence across a growing engineering organisation
  • Modern stack, scalable products, and meaningful technical challenges
