Senior Full-Stack Engineer — Vue.js + Ruby on Rails (Remote, Contract)

We're hiring a senior engineer for a fast-growing US B2B SaaS product. You'll join a small, high-trust engineering team (~9 engineers) heading into its next growth stage, working across a Ruby on Rails + Vue.js codebase. This team doesn't split front-end from back-end — you'll own features end to end, from the Vue UI through the Rails API and data layer.

What you'll do
- Ship user-facing features in Vue (Composition API, TypeScript) and back them with Ruby on Rails APIs
- Work across the full stack on both existing product and active modernization work
- Raise the bar on quality — meaningful tests, small reviewable PRs, sane performance
- Collaborate under strong code review and automated CI gates

You have
- 5+ years building production web apps, with real depth in Vue.js and modern front-end architecture
- Solid API / back-end skills and comfort (or genuine willingness to grow fast) in Ruby on Rails — you're not siloed to the front-end
- Strong TypeScript and an eye for maintainable, component-driven design
- A collaborative style: you thrive under code review, not just tolerate it
- AI-assisted development as part of your daily workflow (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot)

Nice to have
- Experience modernizing or refactoring a legacy codebase
- PostgreSQL performance work, background jobs, CI/CD ownership
