Overview

Sownd Affects is solving noise pollution in the built environment - the problem that makes restaurants unbearable, offices draining, and venues exclusionary for the ~60% of adults

who are noise sensitive. Our solution is the world's first Audio Inclusivity Certification

Standard, launched at RICS on International Noise Awareness Day 2026 and built on an

ISVR-validated framework (University of Southampton). The first wave of Pioneer partners -

including Oscar Acoustics, Hilson Moran, dMFK, Absolute Acoustics and Asona - is already

signed, together opening up to 35 markets through the partner network.

This is not a greenfield project. The standard is launched and selling; the platform behind it

is live and being built out now - partner onboarding, assessment tools, certification

generation, and activation (NFC/QR plaque, shared dashboard, public Directory). The

founder opens the doors; you own the product and build it. A Commercial Director hire is in

progress in parallel, so you step into a product with real momentum and a team actively

converting it into revenue.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of our product development. You will work directly with the Founder, Lead Developer, and Fractional CTO to design, build, and continuously improve our certification platform. This is a highly autonomous role where you will transform ideas into production-ready features, own technical and product decisions, and build AI-powered workflows that solve real customer problems. 

Key Responsibilities

• Own the product roadmap from concept to production.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy full-stack features using modern TypeScript technologies.
• Build scalable frontend applications using React and Next.js.
• Develop backend services, APIs, and database schemas using serverless architecture.
• Design and maintain AI-powered workflows, automation pipelines, and intelligent agents.
• Integrate LLM technologies (Claude, OpenAI or equivalent) into production systems.
• Improve onboarding, assessment processing, certification generation, reporting, and operational automation.
• Collaborate closely with leadership to prioritize product initiatives.
• Make architecture and UX decisions that improve customer experience.
• Monitor production systems, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve platform performance.
• Contribute to engineering standards, code quality, and technical strategy.

Required Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with:
  • TypeScript
  • React
  • Next.js
  • Node.js
  • Modern serverless architecture
  • PostgreSQL (Neon or similar)
  • Vercel or comparable deployment platforms
• Experience delivering production-ready SaaS products.
• Ability to own features from database design through polished user interface.
• Hands-on experience integrating Large Language Models (Claude, OpenAI GPT, or equivalent).
• Experience building AI agents, automation workflows, or LLM-powered features in production.
• Strong understanding of API development and modern software engineering practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and product-thinking skills.
• Strong communication skills 
• English level C1 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with:
  • MCP (Model Context Protocol)
  • LangChain, CrewAI, or similar agent frameworks
  • Multi-tenant SaaS applications
  • Subscription or billing systems
  • Serverless infrastructure
• Startup or early-stage company experience.
• Experience working directly with founders or cross-functional teams.
