Senior AWS Data Engineer

About the Project
We are looking for a Senior AWS Data Engineer to design and build a centralized data platform from scratch for a logistics product running on AWS.
The platform uses a microservices architecture with Amazon RDS MySQL (~136 GB production database). Currently, BI dashboards are spread across multiple subsystems. The goal is to centralize data and enable management to make informed decisions based on crew compliance, certifications, and operational performance.

Responsibilities
Design and build a scalable AWS data platform and data lake from scratch.
Develop ETL/ELT pipelines from MySQL (Amazon RDS).
Design data models optimized for analytics and reporting.
Integrate BI tools such as AWS QuickSight, Metabase, or Apache Superset.
Ensure data quality, security, and strict customer data segregation.
Collaborate with engineering and business teams to deliver reliable reporting solutions.

Requirements
5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS.
Experience building data lakes using Amazon S3.
Experience with AWS Glue and Amazon Athena.
Strong SQL and MySQL skills.
Experience designing ETL/ELT pipelines.
Knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling principles.
Experience working with cloud-based microservices architectures.
Upper-Intermediate English (B2+) or higher.

Nice to Have
Experience with AWS QuickSight, Metabase, or Apache Superset.
Python for data engineering.
Experience in Logistics or Supply Chain projects.
