About the Role

We are looking for an experienced DB2 LUW Administrator (L3 Support) to join a long-term support engagement. In this role, you will be responsible for administering, optimizing, and troubleshooting IBM DB2 LUW databases in SAP environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of mission-critical systems.

This position is ideal for a senior database professional with deep expertise in DB2 LUW, SAP Basis, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and production support.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize IBM DB2 LUW databases in SAP environments
• Provide L3 support, perform advanced troubleshooting, and conduct root cause analysis for complex database issues
• Optimize database performance through SQL tuning and query optimization
• Manage database backups, restores, cloning, and disaster recovery processes
• Configure and maintain high availability solutions
• Collaborate closely with SAP Basis teams to ensure stable and efficient SAP operations
• Monitor database health, storage utilization, capacity planning, and performance
• Implement and maintain database security policies and best practices
• Automate routine administration tasks using tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, or PowerShell
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for critical production systems

Requirements

• 8+ years of commercial experience as a DB2 LUW Database Administrator
• Strong hands-on experience supporting SAP environments
• Experience working with SAP Basis and DBA Cockpit
• Deep knowledge of IBM DB2 LUW administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
• Strong expertise in backup, recovery, cloning, snapshot restores, and disaster recovery strategies
• Experience implementing and supporting HADR (High Availability Disaster Recovery)
• Strong SQL optimization and query performance tuning skills
• Solid Linux/UNIX administration skills
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, or PowerShell
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
• Professional English

Nice to Have

• IBM DB2 Database Administrator Certification
• Experience with SAP HANA
• Additional experience with enterprise database high-availability architectures
