Head of Brand and Content — Employer Branding and Social Media — U.S. Trucking Company
Head of Brand, Content & Employer Branding
$3,000–$4,000/month | Full-time | Remote
Smarten Transport Inc. is a growing U.S. trucking company looking for one experienced, hands-on person to build and manage our complete public image from the ground up.
This is not a narrow Social Media Manager position. You will effectively own the company’s brand, content, employer branding, website communication, advertising, and public presence.
Because we are a smaller company, this will initially be a one-person department. You must be able to personally execute most work and use freelancers or specialized contractors when needed.
What You Will Own
- Company brand, positioning, voice, and visual direction
- LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other relevant platforms
- Photo, video, graphics, written content, and advertising creative
- Employer branding and recruiting campaigns
- Employee and driver value proposition
- Career pages, job advertisements, recruiting materials, and employer package
- Company website structure, messaging, and content
- Paid advertising campaigns and advertising budgets
- Online reputation, reviews, public communication, and company announcements
- Content planning, production, publishing, measurement, and continuous improvement
- Management of freelancers, designers, videographers, developers, and other specialists when necessary
Required Experience
We are looking for someone with strong ownership experience across several connected areas, including:
- Brand management
- Content creation
- Social media
- Employer branding
- Recruitment marketing
- Website content
- Paid advertising
- Copywriting
- Photo and video production
- Marketing analytics
- Reputation management
Exact trucking experience is not required.
However, you must have closely related experience building and managing a company’s complete public presence, preferably for a U.S.-focused, B2B, operational, service, logistics, staffing, manufacturing, construction, or frontline-workforce company.
You must have experience working independently in a small or medium-sized company where you personally owned multiple marketing functions rather than performing only one narrow task.
AI Tools Are Mandatory
You must actively use modern AI tools throughout your work, including for:
- Content ideas and research
- Copywriting and editing
- Image creation
- Video creation and editing
- Voiceovers
- Scripts and storyboards
- Advertising creative
- Content repurposing
- Analytics and optimization
- Website and campaign development
We are not looking for someone who occasionally uses ChatGPT. We need someone who has built an efficient AI-supported content-production workflow and can demonstrate it.
You Must Be Hands-On
You should be able to personally:
- Write strong English content for a U.S. audience
- Create professional social media posts
- Produce basic graphics
- Edit short-form videos
- Develop campaigns
- Manage advertising budgets
- Improve website content
- Organize remote photo and video collection
- Turn rough business ideas into completed public-facing materials
You do not need to be an advanced specialist in every creative discipline, but you must understand each area well enough to execute, evaluate quality, and manage freelancers.
First Priorities
During the first 90 days, you will be expected to:
- Audit the company’s existing public presence
- Define the brand voice, positioning, and content direction
- Create or improve all important social media accounts
- Establish a repeatable AI-supported content system
- Launch regular photo, video, and written content
- Improve the website and recruiting presentation
- Build the company’s employer package and employee value proposition
- Launch initial employer-branding and recruiting campaigns
- Create a system for managing advertising budgets and reporting results
- Present a six-month brand-development plan
Selection Process
- Application and portfolio review
- Initial interview
- Live practical interview with screen sharing
- Final interview and reference verification
- Offer
During the live interview, you will be asked to share your screen and complete a short practical exercise using the tools you normally use.
The exercise may include:
- Developing a content concept
- Writing or improving a post
- Creating a basic visual or video concept
- Demonstrating your AI workflow
- Reviewing a website or social media page
- Explaining how you would structure a campaign and budget
This is not a prepared presentation. We want to see how you think, work, use AI tools, make decisions, and turn an idea into an actual result.
