Our client, a high-tech defense company at the forefront of innovation, is looking for a Sales Engineer.

This role is for for a proactive and technically skilled Sales Engineer for a key role in connecting innovative technology with customer needs. As a Sales Engineer you will work closely with clients to understand their needs, provide technical solutions, and support the sales process with deep product knowledge and expertise.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in customer meetings together with Account Executives and Account Managers.
  • Conduct technical discovery to understand the customer’s platform, architecture, operating environment, performance requirements, and constraints.
  • Recommend suitable products, configurations, interfaces, and integration approaches.
  • Identify where standard products meet the customer’s needs and where custom development or engineering assessment may be required.
  • Recognise technical risks, dependencies, and product-fit limitations early in the sales process.
  • Support customers during initial configuration, bench testing, integration, and field testing.
  • Act as the main technical interface between Sales and Engineering for active commercial opportunities.
  • Provide Engineering with sufficient context, including the customer’s use case, expected volumes, project stage, urgency, and commercial importance.
  • Contribute to improving the company’s technical discovery, evaluation, and handover processes.

 

Skills Requirements:

  • Good technical understanding of electronic, radio communication, telecommunications, embedded, robotics, or unmanned-system products.
  • Experience in sales engineering, pre-sales engineering, technical account management or a similar customer-facing technical role.
  • Ability to understand a customer’s system architecture and convert operational needs into technical requirements.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to organise technical information and produce clear documentation.
  • Ability to work across Sales, Engineering, and Integration teams.
  • English at B2 level or higher.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with UAVs, UGVs, USVs, robotics, defence technology, or other unmanned systems.
  • Understanding of radio communication fundamentals, including frequency bands, link budgets, antennas, modulation, interference, and data rates.
  • Experience supporting hardware integration, field testing, or proof-of-concept projects.
