About the Role
The Web & Digital Operations Manager owns the technical health of Liminal's web presence and our clients' websites. This is the person who makes sure roughly 45 client sites and our own site stay secure, fast, backed up, and live. They will coordinate our offshore development partner, own hosting, run the technical side of every site launch, and maintain the internal brand messaging app.
When a site goes down, a launch stalls, or a plugin breaks something, the person in this role is accountable for the fix.
Responsibilities
Web Development Oversight and Quality Control
- Own quality control across all client and Liminal websites.
- Coordinate our offshore development partner (Alpinist Studios), who builds and migrates sites. Review their work, manage the queue, and make sure results meet our standard.
- Run the technical launch checklist for every site: DNS and MX records, domain access, redirects, admin access, and contact-form routing.
Hosting And Maintenance
- Manage web hosting and the hosting vendor relationship (currently WP Engine).
- Run ongoing maintenance across all sites: plugin updates (WP Engine and non-WP Engine), off-site AWS backups, and scheduled overnight maintenance.
- Set up and troubleshoot site analytics (Google Analytics, Site Kit, MonsterInsights).
Liminal Internal Website
- Build and maintain meetliminal.com: case study pages, SEO and GEO optimization, mobile fixes, popups, and ongoing updates.
Brand Messaging App (Vibe Coded)
- Maintain and improve Liminal's internal brand messaging app: build and refine features (onboarding flow, org profile, brand voice, brand guide quality score, org health assessment, competitive analysis, search/chat), fix bugs, handle UI/UX, and manage document generation and formatting.
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on WordPress expertise, including page builders (Beaver Builder, Elementor) and plugin management at scale.
- Real experience managing hosting environments, DNS, domains, backups, and site migrations.
- Comfort coordinating the work of an outside development partner and holding their work to a high-quality standard.
- Working knowledge of web analytics setup (GA4, Site Kit, MonsterInsights) and technical SEO.
- Product/app skills to maintain and extend a web application (front-end and light back-end).
- Organized and self-directed. This role runs largely on its own across many sites at once.
- Genuine interest in equity-centered nonprofit work. The person doesnβt have to come from the sector, but should care about the work of the clients we serve.
