Senior Power BI Engineer

Hey there, 

We're looking for a Senior Power BI Engineer who enjoys transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights. In this role, you'll partner closely with business stakeholders to gather and document reporting requirements, design intuitive dashboards, define KPIs and calculations, and build scalable Power BI reports that support real estate investment and lending decisions in the US market.
Our tech stack: Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Azure, DataHub, and Power BI.

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field;
• At least 5 years of hands-on work with Power BI.
• Experience with user stories, mockups, and agreeing on what success looks like for dashboards and reports.
• Good skills in data modeling, data catalog, working with different data sources, and making sure data relationships are set up right in Power BI.
• Solid knowledge of SQL and connecting Power BI to databases.
• Great at writing DAX formulas for calculations and custom measures.
• Background in data warehousing and pipelines, working closely with data engineers for complex tasks.
• Experience with Snowflake especially when using them with Power BI. Airflow and DBT is a plus.
• Experience making clear documentation for dashboards: showing data sources, calculations, filters, KPIs, and visual details.
• Able to quickly make mockups and drafts, sharing ideas with teammates and others.
• Strong communication skills with both technical and business people.

• Build, update, and manage Power BI dashboards and reports so business users get clear visuals and answers.
• Work with others to collect needs, write user stories, make mockups, and agree on success criteria.
• Break down each dashboard into clear pieces: showing data sources, calculations, KPIs, visuals, and filter options.
• Keep all documentation organized and easy for others to read and follow.
• Make sure reports are reliable, quick, and protected, using Power BI best practices and security features.
• Work closely with stakeholders by sharing drafts, explaining changes, collecting feedback, and adjusting dashboards so they’re really useful.
• Help set and improve standards for documentation and best practices.
