Microsoft 365 Engineer
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer on a senior level to join our team and help operate, maintain, and continuously improve our Microsoft 365 platform in a large-scale enterprise environment. You are a self-driven professional with strong technical expertise, a passion for automation, and a proven track record of delivering sustainable solutions instead of temporary fixes. You proactively identify opportunities for improvement, take ownership of complex initiatives, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organization
Requirements for the candidate:
Several years of professional experience as a Microsoft 365 Engineer.
Proven experience operating, administering, and continuously improving Microsoft 365 in complex enterprise environments supporting several thousand users.
Strong expertise in:
- Microsoft 365
- Exchange Online
- Microsoft Teams
- SharePoint Online
- OneDrive for Business
- Microsoft Entra ID (including app registration and Enterprise applications)
- Strong PowerShell skills to automate reoccurring tasks.
- Hands-on experience with hybrid environments, including Active Directory and Microsoft Entra Connect.
- Experience with M&A, carve-out, or post-merger integration projects.
- Experience planning and executing complex Microsoft 365 migrations, tenant consolidations, and tenant decommissioning projects.
- A structured and solution-oriented approach with a strong focus on quality.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-tech stakeholders.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken. German is a plus.
Candidate responsibilities
- Operate and support Microsoft 365 enterprise services.
- Support the existing team in administering and continuously improving the Microsoft 365 platform.
- Administer, troubleshoot, and optimize Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Automate administrative processes using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph.
- Plan and execute complex Microsoft 365 tenant decommissioning projects.
- Act as point of contact for our User Services team, providing technical guidance and assisting with the troubleshooting of issues affecting the Microsoft 365 platform.
- Analyze and resolve complex technical issues as part of the 3rd Level Support team.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across teams
- Drive Microsoft 365 and Entra ID cleanup activities related to post-integration technical debt, (ex: distribution lists, shared mailboxes, SharePoint sites, Teams, and access-related objects)
- Drive Microsoft 365 related backlog reduction by analyzing recurring support patterns, resolving prioritized issues, and turning repeatable requests into automation, documentation, or sustainable platform improvements
