Within the company, we also develop RhodeCode — our own enterprise product for Source Code Management (Git, Mercurial, and Subversion), trusted by international companies to securely manage source code, user permissions, and development workflows.
In addition to RhodeCode, we are building new AI-driven products, leveraging modern AI technologies to transform the software development process.

🎯 About the Role
We are looking for a Python Developer to join the RhodeCode product team and contribute to the development of one of our core products.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who is passionate not only about backend development but also about understanding the inner workings of Source Code Management systems, product architecture, and modern AI-driven development practices.
A significant part of the development process is AI-assisted development — you'll actively use modern AI coding tools, primarily Claude Code, along with other AI coding assistants, to accelerate development and improve engineering productivity.
👉 Your primary goal will be to enhance RhodeCode, support existing enterprise customers, and deliver new product functionality.
✅ Ideal Candidate
- 3+ years of commercial Python development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience with one or more frameworks such as Flask, Django, Pyramid, or similar.
- Solid understanding of version control concepts.
- Experience not only using Git but also understanding how Source Code Management systems work internally (Git, GitHub, GitLab, Mercurial, Subversion, etc.).
- Experience working with PostgreSQL and ORMs such as SQLAlchemy.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Docker Compose.
- Experience writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Understanding of CI/CD principles.
Nice to have:
- Hands-on experience with Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, or other AI coding assistants.
- Experience integrating AI tools into daily development workflows.
- Experience with Mercurial or Subversion.
- Understanding of REST APIs.
- Experience with Redis and Celery.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience developing enterprise or product-based software.
🛠 Responsibilities
- Develop new features for RhodeCode.
- Maintain and improve the existing product architecture.
- Leverage AI coding tools to accelerate software development.
- Analyze, refactor, and improve the existing codebase.
- Work on Source Code Management functionality and integrations.
- Participate in technical discussions and propose product improvements.
- Collaborate closely with the CTO on technical decisions.
- Contribute to other internal product initiatives when needed.
