Technical Grant Writer

Our product sits at the intersection of AI, robotics, and defence β exactly the intersection that international and national grant programs are looking for. We need someone who can translate what we build into compelling, credible applications. This role can start as part-time or project-based, and grow from there.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Research and track relevant grant opportunities across all relevant programs
- Write technical sections: problem statement, solution description, TRL assessment, methodology, impact metrics
- Work directly with co-founders to accurately represent the technology
- Manage submission calendars, deadlines, and application trackers
- Maintain up-to-date company technology documentation for reuse across applications
- Coordinate on budget justifications and financial sections
- Post-award: manage reporting requirements and milestone documentation
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- Proven track record: at least 2β3 successful grant applications you can reference
- Grant-level English writing β precise, clear, technically credible prose
- Ability to understand and accurately communicate complex technical concepts
- Deep self-management: you'll own this function independently
- Comfort with fast-moving early-stage context β what we do evolves quickly
Nice to have:
- Technical background β engineering, physics, CS, or applied science
- Knowledge of NATO DIANA, EDF, or US defense grant processes
- Experience with defence tech or dual-use startup grant applications
