Team Lead / Tech Lead (Vue.js + Laravel)
We are looking for a Team Lead who will take technical ownership of our web platform, a Laravel backend with a Vue.js frontend, and lead a small team of full-stack engineers. You will own the full delivery cycle and make critical architectural decisions across the stack, but your strongest impact will be on the frontend: building polished, intuitive interfaces, improving user flows, and raising the bar on UX quality without waiting for a dedicated designer. You will partner closely with Product to shape what gets built, establish engineering standards, mentor developers, and drive the platform forward through thoughtful refactoring, performance optimization, and incremental modernization of legacy code. This is a high-impact role with cross-team collaboration, fast decision-making, and an AI-first approach to development.
Requirements
- 5+ years of full-stack web development experience with a strong frontend focus.
- Expert-level Vue.js 3 skills: Composition API, Pinia, Vue Router, component architecture, and TypeScript.
- Strong eye for UI/UX: ability to critique user flows, spot friction, and ship improvements independently without relying on a designer for every decision.
- Solid Laravel experience: routing, Eloquent, queues, middleware, service providers, testing with PHPUnit/Pest.
- Experience leading a team (2+ people): code reviews, task planning, growing engineers, establishing standards.
- Good understanding of relational database design and PostgreSQL: schema design, migrations, query optimization.
- Experience with REST API design: versioning, error handling, authentication (JWT/OAuth), pagination.
- Product-minded: able to partner with a PM to translate business goals into well-considered interface and architectural decisions, and push back when something doesn't serve the user.
- Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong affinity for and understanding of how AI tools can aid yourself and the team in development.
Nice to Have
- Experience building or maintaining a design system or component library.
- Proficiency with Figma or similar design tools.
- Experience with GCP or comparable cloud (AWS/Azure) at the service level.
- Knowledge of Vite build tooling, SSR, or micro-frontend patterns.
- Experience with real-time features (WebSockets, broadcasting).
- Familiarity with Pulumi / Terraform for IaC.
- Understanding of healthcare / pharma ad-tech domain.
- Experience with Playwright or Cypress for E2E testing.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction of the web platform across frontend and backend, with particular depth on the frontend.
- Lead a team of 2-3 full-stack engineers: code reviews, sprint planning, mentorship, and career development.
- Drive feature delivery end-to-end: from database schema and API design to Vue.js components and user experience.
- Make independent UI/UX decisions day-to-day: improve flows, refine interactions, and raise interface quality without waiting for designer input. Consult with the design resource when needed for larger initiatives.
- Partner with Product to shape requirements, challenge assumptions, and advocate for the user in technical and design decisions.
- Identify and propose refactors based on expertise: recognize when code, architecture, or UX patterns need to evolve and drive those changes.
- Ensure code quality, test coverage, and maintainability across the full stack.
- Design and evolve the REST API layer: versioning, authentication, rate limiting, and documentation.
- Optimize application performance: query tuning, caching strategies, frontend bundle optimization.
- Manage technical debt and drive incremental modernization of legacy code.
What We Offer

- Influence on the quality assurance strategy across the entire engineering department.
- A cross-team role with visibility into every part of the product.
- AI-first tooling.
- Claude Code licenses and cutting-edge AI development workflows.
- A team with no bureaucracy, decisions are made fast.
